Impaired balance control can also be a sign of a neurological condition such as Multiple Sclerosis. If you have this condition, it would be best to seek medical help, and stay on the medication prescribed.

Problem with balancing can signify problem(s) of the inner ear (semicircular canals, utricle and saccule), the vestibulocochlear nerve (the nerve from inner ear to the brain stem), the brain stem, the cerebellum, or even the muscles (e.g. generalized muscle weakness).
Since there is not enough information, it is impossible to narrow the list of diagnoses. However, I can confidently say that all of the possible problems cannot be treated with any over counter drugs.
You will definitely need to see a doctor to find out the cause of your problem. Of course, unless you're tipsy due to alcohol consumption...
P.S. Just one more thing to mention...
Someone said above that it might be an inner ear problem and will need otoscope examination for fluid behind the eardrum... this is incorrect. The inner ear is impossible to see with an otoscope, the area behind the eardrum is not the inner ear, but the middle ear. Fluid behind the eardrum may be due to otitis media. It often lead to hearing loss but NOT impaired balance.

Agree with the above. This may be an inner ear problem. Recommend a trip to an urgent care clinic or family practice doc to have your ears examined with an otoscope (simple and not painful) to see if there is fluid behind the ear drum. This can happen with allergies or other problems - one of which would be infection as noted in the first answer.
One problem which can cause these symptoms is Meniere's syndrome, so I've attached a reference link.

It sounds like you may have vertigo which can be associated with the inner ear. Antihistamines such as diphenhydramine (aka Benadryl) or even Gravol may help. You should probably double check with your doctor if the symptoms continue just to make sure that there isn't anything more serious.
