It varies greatly from person to person. It took me about a week to not even feel it. You might take less or more. There is no way to tell.

If you are still uncomfortable after two weeks or so, visit your optometrist again as they may not be fitting you right. Most optometrists will schedule series of appointments for first time contact lens wearers just for this reason.

Worn contacts for 20yrs. & it does take time if wearing gas perm. or hard contacts due to the nerves in & around the eyes have to become desesentatized to the contact in its area. This will happen over a short period of time as you wear them, depending on your body acceptence. Keep using your comfort drops-as the eye w contacts tends to produce less tears over a long period of time. The contact needs to float on a liquid to work better + it will feel better in your eyes too.

It should only take a couple of days. Some people tend to have more dryness than others. Do you have a follow-up appt in 1 week or so? Make sure you let them know what problems you are having. They might need to switch to a more comfortable brand.

It's different for everyone. I recommend the CIBA vision night and day contacts. You are supposed to be able to wear them for 30 days straight, but I only go about 5 days in a row at a time. I do not even notice they are in, I can sleep and shower with them.

Um, I had this issue.

It turned out I was sensitive to the material I both washed the lense with AND the lense was made out of.

Yep. I am too sensitive for them. I suggest Lasik.

I have them also. I had that same feeling it only took me a couple of days, but it depends on how your eyes react to the lens.
