If you do, you really need to reprioritize.

You have a point (no pun intended.) I don't have pierced ears for that reason (as well as health concerns).
For me personally, I believe that piercing and tattoos "violate the temple"--I compare it to punching holes or spraying graffiti on a church.
1 Corinthians 6:19
Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own?
I also did not get my daughter's ears pierced when she was a baby or child, and so far she has not seriously considered it. (She is 14 now). That will be her choice when she is old enough to pay for it, take care of it, and get it done without my support or consent.
I know that most Christians probably wouldn't agree with me, so I am not judging them--it's just my personal conviction. I really don't know how they make the distinction between ear piercing and body piercing, or where the "line" is for them. Perhaps it's that piercings in certain areas just somehow "seem" more pagan, though that's really where the ear piercing comes from too?
Some piercings are clearly done for reasons related to sexual gratification. I suppose the argument could be made that those types of piercings are wrong because they tempt people and may cause them to "lust in their heart" or commit other sexual sins.
I'm anxious to hear what other people think about this.

Let me say this...I am a Christian and I have many and also many tattoos. This body is flesh and bone, in heaven we will have a new Spiritual body. I feel so sorry for the so called Christians that are telling people stuff like this, how many people are so called Christians leading to hell by trying to scare the fear of God into them? God is love and fear is respect and most of what you hear a so called Christian say is a lie. If you love God because you fear hell then something is wrong.
For the above answer.....
The Old Testament law commanded the Israelites, “Do not cut your bodies for the DEAD or put tattoo marks on yourselves. I am the LORD”
You left out a word for the DEAD......See this is how Satan worked a little truth with a little lie.....
In relation to tattoos and body piercings, a good test is to determine whether we can honestly, in good conscience, ask God to bless and use the particular activity for His own good purposes. "Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God" (1 Corinthians 10:31). The Bible does not command against tattoos or body piercings, but it also does not give us any reason to believe God would have us get tattoos or body piercings.

God gave each of us free will and the ability to choose our own concept of worship. I know many people who undergo body piercing, tattooing, and other modifications as a spiritual practice. They are expressing their faith in the divine through a sacrifice of pain as well as the creation of something they consider beautiful in the bodywork itself.
I also know a great many Christians who are pierced and tattooed. Tattooed even with deeply religious symbols, many of which were gotten to represent how these people were saved. God made all things, including body art as an expression!

in deuteronomy it says we are not to pierce ourselves or get tattoos. i guess this would cover branding too. but in studying to concept of piercing and learning the roots of it you will find that it is a sign of slavery. wearing other kinds of jewelry was a way of going to town to buy stuff and pay with the jewelry.
i dont know the God would frown on pierced ears but in all essence, the concept of piercing is to adorn yourself. what we wear can hinder our walk with the Lord in the way of placing these things above God and making them more important. this then becomes your god.
also note that in biblical times, once scarred or blemished the people could not enter the temple at all.

Piercing or tattooing or any of that which is done to alter the body is not really liked by God...I mean I am sure that He's not crazy about it since we are temples of God which are supposed to be sacred, but HIS main concern is whether we accept Him and Love Him!! That outweighs anything that we do to ourselves that alter our physical appearance....for it's the inner appearance HE is most concerned about!! ( :

It doesn't matter. Either we are saved or we are not. Don't pierce me! I don't want it. Salvation is maintained by trusting God through Jesus Christ. There is nothing about piercing in that relationship.
