We need to do something to provide positive leadership and give young girls anad ladies in our community. How do we start? I have about 8 interested mothers who want to help but where do we start?

I might add that we leave in a small s.w. georgia county where their are presently no other organizations that gear to youths.

Why re-invent the wheel? There's Rainbow, Girl Scouts, Campfire Girls... you can start one in your area. I guarantee you there are Masons and Eastern Star down there who can point you to the nearest Rainbow Assembly. Or you can apply to start your own Scout troop.
If you want to start your own, you can get the kids together with a copy of "Roberts Rules" from your local bookstore. It has everything you need to tell you how to conduct a meeting. Then they can decide what their purpose and projects will be.

Find a groups somewhere that does a similar thing and find out what steps they had to take to establish their organisation. You may need to register it and get permits to work with children. By contacting another organisation you might avoid some pitfalls. Lidy :o)
