My main work computer has a starry background, but it looks as if the viewer were traveling at a high speed. The stars look like blue streaks. Think "Star Trek". The image is mostly blue and black in color.
My linux computer has an image of snowy mountains in the back and either a lake or the sea in the front. The image is mostly blue and white in color.
My backup computer has an image from the terminator movies. It is the T800 robot with a weapon on its hand. The image is mostly blue, gray, and black.

I have Gir from Invader Zim on my background cause it makes me smile and think about how funny he is. I am a Christian and i doubt that i would ever have Jesus on the Cross as my background. I think anyone that does just has it there to remind them of his sacrifice for us. If i did have a religous themed background it would be something uplifting and powerful. Not that i'm saying that isn't powerful cause it is, but its not my thing. Jesus was taken off the cross and rose again, he isnt there anymore so why have it.

At work (like at school), the wallpaper should be neutral - a soft, soothing solid color.
It looks professional is not distracting.
What one does on their OWN computer is their business.
A computer that is business or school-owned and is shared by other people should be neutral.
I do not have religious-themed wallpaper on my home computer...and I'm not Christian, either.
For that matter, my religion teaches me not to use graven images in any manner or fashion.

Both home an work wallpapers are of Stonehenge, but different photos. I guess the answer is "yes" as at one time Stonehenge was a religious site of some sort, but "no" in that I'm interested in Stonehenge for the history.

Mine is a comic of Sirius and Snape from Harry Potter with the lovely discussion on Snape being a virgin.
Its up to the person that uses the computer what they wish to see on it. Many times though the wallpaper is covered by browser windows and programs so you wouldnt have to see it often.

A picture of a tree and bluebonnets in a field at dusk, which I have had for my background for about 6 years now. I chose this because of the relatively low contrast which makes seeing the icon names easier, and because it's quite a relaxing image.
On occasion I will run drempels as my background. This is a really nifty animated overlay backdrop.

Hi,
I am Christian by faith, but cannot be doing with all the imagery that can attend it.
I feel that whoever put that background up on your machine is most ignorant, and inconsiderate of other faiths.
As Christians, we embrace all faiths, although some extremists do get in the way of that happening.
I personally have drifting sand dunes, as it reminds me of happy years living in the Mid-East.

At work it's a bunch of red tulips, because they're pretty and I'm Dutch. My brother took the picture last year in Holland.
On my laptop at home, my wallpaper is a picture of Rocco Dispirito, because not only is he hot, but he can cook too!
Not religious, but I could make a really bad pun about how I had a religious experience last night while thinking about Rocco Dispirito. I'll spare you.

Right now mine is a t-shirt design that says 'My best friend is my Miniature Schnauzer' because I thought it was cute. My home one is a cool picture of Sirius (the Dog Star) that I found online.
I will probably change it to a Samhain theme later this month, so it will end up being religious.
