I do not know about the Air Force but if rescue missions are your interest why not look into the Coast Guard?

Air Force mostly runs support for the missions, I really agree with the previous answer. If that's something you're looking for, definitely look into the Coast Guard. Whenever I enlisted a few years ago, I noticed that most of the jobs doing support for needy people were for Reservists. Don't hold me to that though

Well Para-Rescue is spec-ops for the Air Force. Load Master or crew chief on a C-130 may be what you are looking for. these guys travel all over the world helping people out, they get food/supplies to the needy and get refugees out of arduous locations. I was a Security Forces (cop/MP) for 20 years, we did cool stuff loke that too. Good luck.
