This happened about 5 years ago and again last year. Does anyone know what may be going on. I am thinking allergies. The farmers are working in the fields all around me.

Ginger spice caught the reason that you're hearing it.... but if you feel she didn't really address your question, it's likely because you've got some bad congestion or because your ears are plugged (possibly from wax). Is your nose really stuffed up, or just your ears?

If it's just your ears that are plugged, it probably isn't respiratory allergies (although it's possible). If your nose isn't plugged (or sniffly), it's probably wax buildup in your ears and you can talk to your doctor about flushing them. I had that once before, and I could hear everything physically happening in my head, including when I swallowed.

However, if your nose is plugged, it is very possibly allergies and your sinuses have backed up all the mucus so bad that your ears are plugged. It'll pass soon enough, but just keep blowing your nose to get stuff out so you can breathe easier... it may help clear up your ears easier if it's allergies ;-)

Can Hear Fluid In Ear

it's because there is a communication between your ears, nose and your mouth. it's the pharynx. you could feel as if there's something congested in your ears may be because you have a cold or something, while the reason you can hear fluid when you swallow is because your eustachean/auditory tube coming from the inner ear is part of the pharynx which makes you also hear what is inside the near structures from your ears.
