It does seem like a conflict of interest for the chosen people to write a book detailing how God chose them.

Not at all! Anyone who invents a deity can claim he is a member of that deity's chosen people. That is racist, of course. If there were gods, I do not think they would be petty enough to have a favorite group of humans.

If you wrote a book, would you get someone who is TOTALLY AGAINST YOU...write it?
And WHY did God have the Bible written?
WHY do manufacturers of goods sell them with USER'S MANUALS?
God made us and knows what's best for us.

Nope seems logical to me, But those who wrote it wrote it for the Gentiles as well.
Rom 3:9 What then? are we better [than they]? No, in no wise: for we have before proved both Jews and Gentiles, that they are all under sin;
Rom 3:29 [Is he] the God of the Jews only? [is he] not also of the Gentiles? Yes, of the Gentiles also:

Why ODD?
Is a secretary not close to the person who is giving the dictation or the gist of a letter he/she wants written? Does the boss go find a total stranger to get his writing done?

Odd? no... They were jewish, but were converted. God wants the Jews of today also to Accept Christ and be with Him in heaven as well.
There is no more Jew or Gentile, we are all one in Christ...
