No disrespect taken. You ask a fair question.

The answer? God does not lie. People simply misinterpret what they read.

If you start out believing that Jesus and his father Jehovah are one and the same then you'd be right. But they aren't and the scriptures make that plain. That scripture in Deut 6:4 is an excellent example.

So with Jesus and Jehovah being two separate persons let's look at those verses

Gen. 1:26 ... Let US make man in our image ... That was Jehovah speaking to Jesus, who elsewhere in scripture is referred to as God's Master Worker.

Gen. 3:22/Genesis 18:1-3 don't have any bearing at all on this. Are you sure you have those right?

1 John 5:7 - The scripture says there are three witness bearers. Now while SOME translations say "the three are one" Others don't. The ones that include that little phrase are inaccurate. To be honest, some folks have posted some detailed explanation as to why that phrase was inserted but I don't recall it. Maybe someone else can elaborate.

Hold the phone: I did find this -
In the Textus Receptus 1 John 5:7-8 reads as follows:

For there are three that bear witness IN HEAVEN, THE FATHER, THE WORD, AND THE HOLY SPIRIT: AND THESE THREE ARE ONE.
AND THERE ARE THREE THAT BEAR WITNESS IN EARTH, the spirit, and the water, and the blood: and these three agree in one.
The words printed in capital letters constitute the so-called Johannine comma, the best known of the Latin Vulgate readings of the Textus Receptus, a reading which, on believing principles, must be regarded as possibly genuine.

In any event, the three ARE one... in agreement. That is what Jesus meant when he said "I and the father are one"

Gen 1:26 - the angles where present at creation.

Gen 3:22 - still could be angles.

Gen 18:1-3 - the 2 others are angles. They go ahead of God and enter Sodom at the beginning of chapter 19 -
Genesis 19:1And there came two angels to Sodom at even...

1 John 5:7 - I agree.

I do not think that some one will lose there salvation on this point, but this is what I believe is how it all fits together.

God the Father made Jesus before creation (even the angles).
It is written that Jesus made all things visible and He sustains them.
Jesus said that He does or says nothing on His own, but only what He is instructed by His Father.

Jesus said that all power and authority was given Him (the story of Pharaoh giving Joseph such power in Egypt is an example).

Satan tried to take this power and authority, and he was cast out.

But Jesus was given this power and authority, and would you not call any one with such power and authority GOD.

The Bible does not tell us about how the Holy Ghost received His status, but it was most likely given to His also.

The Father is above all.
But they are all in one perfect accord.

Jesus prayed to the Father that we would be in one accord even as He and the Father were one.

The answers are fairly obvious, unless you are deliberately pretending to be obtuse.

In Gen 1:26 & 3:22, God is speaking in the 3rd person. Earthly royalty has often spoken in the same manner, and still does today.

In Gen 18:1-3, if you look at the whole of the event, rather than that little snippet which fits your agenda, you will realize that the 3 are the Angel of the Lord (believed to be a way of referring to the persona of Jesus in the OT) and 2 other angels.

Of course, 1John 5:7 refers to the Triune Godhead, the Father, Son & Holy Spirit. This is understood in Christianity as 3 persons in one God.

None of this is a lie, as God does not lie, nor hypocritical, as it is consistent with the nature of God.

In Islam from the first page of the holy book to the last page of the holy book there is only ONE GOD who created this world
with no partner
we believe in Islam about the Bible and who deny it he will be not Muslim BUT Islam is continued from the GOD after the Bible and the Torah ( and it is the last or the conclusion)
In Islam every things mention in the Holy book is logic with no lies and hypocritical either
NOTE: Do not ever say that GOD lie not to any body or inside yourself either

Four things:

1. The word "god" has more than one meaning. What constitutes "God" in the context of the ten commandments is different than what constitutes "gods" in other books of the Bible.

2. God didn't write the Bible anyway. People did. People are ambiguous, vague, lack clarity, and sometimes make mistakes. That makes it possible that you are misreading the text, taking it out of context, or that the text you are reading is not completely clear in its meaning.

3. What translation are you using? The Bible has been translated from the original texts in many different ways. Your "plurality of gods" examples are not worded as such in some translations.

4. You are committing the same error that a lot of Christians do when they are trying to make a point. You are cherry-picking Bible verses out of context. What does that prove? That the only thing hypocritical here is people.

I believe no matter how the Bible is analyzed, it is flawed When one controls the religion of a people, they then control those people. This is why it was so important to make sure the Bible only told the stories approved of by the King and his Church. It also explains the hiding of certain texts. If anything written even smells a little bit against the King, it was stricken and removed. Strictly discussing only the New Testament, it was written two centuries after Christ was murdered. This was long before translators made the Bible readable for the masses. They had complete discretion over content. Before being released to the masses If a story wasn’t complete, multiple stories were woven together to form one book. Pieces were moved around and put together like a puzzle. When a turn of a phrase disagreed with the King’s Church, it was, as previously mentioned removed in its entirety. We now know that multiple scrolls of material, intended to be included as part of the Bible, were carefully hidden instead. This was necessary to avoid destruction of both the authors, and the information. We are aware of this as scripted Codices, have slowly been discovered. They’ve been carbon dated and authenticated by experts to prove they were written at approximately the same time the Bible. Numerous experts believe these writings were intended to be part of the original Bible. However, it is also true to say that these compositions are still the cause of great debate. Before the Bible was let loose to commoners, these powerful people had just simply raped it. of freedom for the common man, it must be destroyed. For if it was found that the King was not god, the King could loose his ability to control his kingdom. As the translators were loyal to the King, the Bible was edited very carefully indeed. Speaking only of the New Testament, the Bible remains one of the very best set of life instructions known to man. There is only one, most important law. It is: To love the Lord, your God, with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your might, and to love thy neighbor as you love yourself. If this Law is followed to the letter, it isn’t possible to break even one of the old Ten Commandments. This is how we can live more abundantly, which is as God wants us to live. When Jesus was born, all prophecies from the Old Testament were fulfilled. The Old Testament passed away with the first coming of the Christ. The Ten Commandments were no longer relevant.
Blessed Be

God created beings with free will. He decided that to have a creation that cannot think for itself and decide whether it wants to follow Him or not would be pointless. God is the only true God. People around the world worship the Great Water Dragon or whatever, or the Goddess, and they believe that the thing they are worshiping is a god. God is saying that in the entire world, He is the only true, supernaturally real God. People sometimes make money their god, the thing that rules their life, that provides direction for their decisions and so on...

Who (indeed) is the victor over the world but the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?
6
This is the one who came through water and blood, 2 Jesus Christ, not by water alone, but by water and blood. The Spirit is the one that testifies, and the Spirit is truth.
7
So there are three that testify,
8
the Spirit, the water, and the blood, and the three are of one accord.
