A sure him how much you love and need him, tell him... SHOW ;) him! That always brings me out of my slumps, I was crushed under a 1300 lb. machine that dropped on me at work, broke my neck @ 2 levels, broke my back @ t-7 bulged discs c-5-6 and7 havent worked since Sept. of 1998 i was not parallelized but i live with pain that wakes me up screaming every night. I went through some horrible depression and if it wasn't for my wife being there for me telling how much she needed me I would have ended this life of Dr's.,Drugs And PAIN years ago!

What is the reason for his depression? If he is just going through something and it will pass, then be supportive and a great listener and sounding board. Give him a hug. If it runs deeper than that then you should see your family doctor. Sometimes these "funks" people can not just get through them by themselves and need a little help to put things back together.

Just an idea but could it have something to do with diet? I went trough the same thing with depression when my wife had to go into hospital and I was left to fend for myself because I wasn't eating properly or it might have just worry..hope things get better for you both soon...

Awwww... Sorry to hear that.

Have you tried talking with him about it? To find out what the root of the problem is? If he doesn't want to talk about it, pressure him to discuss it with his doctor... He might feel more comfortable talking about it mano e mano... ya know?

Other than that, just be supportive. But I have the feeling you already are... :-)

There can be so many things to make him feel depressed. Try sitting down with him and tell him to spill the beans to you. He may be sad that he is married. Sorry.

if mild, try some tips to cheer him up...like taking him out and cuddling him..talking might help as well.

if moderate, consult some therapists and try herbal sucssions, he might lack some nesscary vitamins and minerals..check these out.

if severe, get pro help right away, cos it becomes risky.

Don't try to help another person with depression by yourself. Take him to a doctor.
