You need your contract in writing.

Otherwise you stand about a 90% chance of not getting what you want.

My source:
Experiance.

You repair aircraft. Try to get in a field that can be used on the outside.

As far as the bonus, I don't know.

USAF Sgt, in for 4 and out.

There is rarely a wrong reason to join the military. I joined for training that did me well. If my country called me up during that time to go to war, I would have gone. Anyone who says that you are joining up for the wrong reasons, I would say, has the one size fits all patriot mentality that is communistic to the core.

not every job qualifies for a bonus. what jobs you can choose from are based on the line scores of your ASVAB. if you don't get the right lone scores, or don't have normal color vision, you won't be offered an aircraft mechanic's job. Additionally, if there are no open slots, you won't be offered a job.

assuming there is a bonus, it must be in the contract. No contract, no bonus. when a bonus is paid out is dependent on the TYPE of bonus and what qualifications need to be met. some require you to successfully finish all schooling, for instance. others only require you to finish Boot Camp.

An Aircraft Mechanic, plainly, fixes the engines in aircraft. You will be training at NATTC Millington, TN (right outside of Memphis).
As forthe bonus. I have to agree that your main bonus will be the title. I have been off active duty for 17 years, and it is still a title I carry with me.
The monetary bonus is broken down into equal amounts, and you get a part of it on your enlistment anniversary.

First of all, "use spell check" and you should look into the Air Force for flight mechanic. My son works on the KC-10S...they can answer all your questions about signing up bonus etc.

Your bonus for joining the Marines is claiming the title; Marine. Your bonus is that every Marine who is serving or has ever served will call you Brother as long as you live. It sounds like you are joining for the wrong reasons.

Remember, the commercial says: "MAYBE you can be one of us." Maybe you can't.

the only "bonus" you should need is serving your country...once you complete your school you'll be assigned to work on whatever type of aircraft the USMC tells you to
