I have read many statements that Adam was a Muslim that learnt Islam directly from Allah.
Now I am confused to how the fall of man occured, if the first ever person was a perfect Muslim how did things go down hill?
If you're going to blame the storys of Cain and Abel, please tell me why Adam didn't teach them Islam too? Why did Islam fail so ultimately the first time?

Please note: I am not a Christian, so insulting Christianity is not the objective here, sorry if that leaves most of you answerless.

I am not bashing anything, I just want to read the explanation. And I have got tired of reading pages of insults/attacks whenever I ask anything about them.

Well unlike Christianity Muslims don't believe in the concept of "Original Sin". So their was no fall of man as such.
But when Satan deceived Adam and Eve, it was a lesson to them that this is what will happen on Earth and you must strive to avoid sin and if you do repent and God will forgive you.
If you look throughout Islam everything is done gradually for example firstly alcohol was restricted and then finally banned.
This is the same with Islam, with every Messenger God also sent something new or something that those people needed, Islam is simply the completed religion that God wants us to follow:
...This day have I perfected your religion for you, completed My favour upon you, and have chosen for you Islam as your religion... (Quran 5:3)
As for Cain and Abel they made thier own choices as we do, why did Bill Clinton turn out fine and Roger Clinton arrested for possesion of cocaine?

The Old Testament, as recognised by Christians is also recognised by Jews and Muslims.
So, I assume it is the same as in the bible - with the snake etc.
So it's not a failure of Islam, Christianity or any other religion based on the sons of Ibrahim (Abraham) - both religions being a much more recent development of the theme of "Godhead."

What you really need to ask yourself is. Why am I asking a question about a mythological Character as if he was a real person?? God supposedly made adam from dust and then made eve from one of adams ribs. What. was he getting bored of the dust trick?? The truth is you can take all of the bible and any other religious text with a pinch of salt because it was written by men who made up the rules in the bible because of what was happening in their lives at the time.
For example not being able to eat pork was probably written by the beef farmer who noticed his friends pig farm was doing a hell of alot more buisness than him. The truth is stories from the bible are written by men who more than likely heard it from someone else, ect, ect.
When was the last time you took what you heard in a pub as real.

I don't know if Islam follows the same creation-fall-redemption-consummation model that Christianity does. In Christianity, Jesus came as God to die to redeem the fall of man, but Islam doesn't see Jesus as God or as dying for our sins therefore they don't have that redemption aspect so maybe they don't have the fall either.
I don't really know much about Islam, this is just speculation.

Adam learned directly from God.....
Adam and Eve disobeyed and this brought sin into the world...
they were deceived by Satan lies....
Adam and Eve taught their children of the one true God.....
a perfect Muslim??no such thing...only God is perfect...
the Islamic theology did not occur until many thousand of centuries later....when was Mohamed born? his story book was a long time after all this occurred so it does not apply....
read the Bible and get the correct information....

There is not a single verse in the bible that says adam was a muslim. That story was plainly and undoubtedly mythical. Besides allah's teaching came after Christ's death. Go read the bible and get enlightened.

All religions stem from paganism, the word of god/Allah/Jehovah etc etc are really the words of man corrupted from stories passed down over generations.
The worlds two most holy places (temple of the mount and temple of the rock) where holy long before, Islam. Judaism, and Christianity.
If there is a supreme being i am sure he/she would look down from on high and be disgusted with his work.
If there ever was proof that no god exists it is the fact that he hasn't destroyed our whole planet and started again.

Adam never heard of the word "Muslim" or "Allah." Muhammad started his false religion thousands of years later in about 600 A.D. Allah was the name of one of the Mecca idols of which there were 360. The tribe into which Muhammad was born was particularly devoted to Allah which was the moon god. It was represented by a black stone that was believed to have come down from heaven. In Arabia the sun god was viewed as female, and the moon was viewed as the male god. In pre-Islamic times, Allah, the moon god, was married to the sun god, and together they produced three goddesses called The Daughters of Allah. They were viewed as being at the top of the pantheon of Arabian deities, those 360- idols in the Kaaba, at Mecca. When Muhammad took control of Mecca, he destroyed all the idols in the Kaaba except the stone deity, Allah.
Do not ever accept "Allah" as just another name of the true and living God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. They are not the same.
