Go to the vet and have them check his thyroid. This is a classic symptom of thyroid disorder.

My dogs (both weigh around 10 pounds) will shake and stay close to my side once it turns cold. They are little heat-seekers....they love to cuddle with me because it helps keep them warm. Once it turns chilly, I won't let them outside without a sweater on because it's just too cold for their little bodies.
Mine will also shake if she's nervous or scared about something.
I would call your vet just to make sure.

Get him a sweater. he might be cold. also small dogs have sugar drops at times.. is he eating well.? if not give him a little honey ..If he is nervous. something is up.. If it doesn't stop.. I would take him to the vet for a check up just to be on the safe side.

If I were you I would speak to the vet about his behavior. He may have gotten injured.
Take him to the vet.

Freedom: Yes your right that is a symptom of thyroid condition. They seek warm places to sleep or like warm temperatures..

It might be a good idea if they run some bloodwork if he is not injured.

This sounds like nervous behavior. Make sure he keeps warm and see if there's anything in the environment that's stressing him out. Make a vet appointment so he can get a thorough checkup.
