My video of my kids when they were younger got stuck in my vcr and snapped when retrieved I am heart broken does anyone know if there is somewhere or who that can repair it and transfer it onto cd????

Yes it can be repaired, simIply move some of the tape from both sides of the cassette, it may be necessary to cut off the bad portion of the tape. then put scotch tape on the inside where it won't come in contact with the tape head, as you are looking at the tape from the front, that is the front, the scotch tape goes behind that. Use a 1/2 inch size tape, since that is the width of the tape itself. Carefully cut off the excess from the edges, then using your thumb, rotate the spindle until the tape retracts back into the cassette.

If you look at the beginning of a video tape you will see where the transparent leader tape joins the black video tape a small piece of tape. This is a special fixing tape. If you're careful you can remove a piece from a tape you don't want to fix on your own. Or you could use a piece of lightweight sticky tape from a craft shop. (It's what I use on my tapes.) But make sure you trim it correctly or it will stick to your heads.
