Each country has the restriction and age limit to become a professional fighter. There are some countries that allow a fighter to turn pro at 16 years of age. I assume as long as a fighter is able to fight at a pro level, then he is eligible to fight for a title, regardless of age..... but of course he'd have to earn a shot at the title first.

I don't know who the youngest to challenge was. But I do know Wilfred Benitez defeated Antonio Cervantes for the Jr. Welterweight championship at the age of 17.

I believe that Stonewall Jackson is correct as Benitez did win a world title at age 17.

I only know of Mike Tyson who was 19 when he became the World Heavyweight Champ. There were probably younger guys way back in the19th century since Boxing wasn't as strictly regulated back then as it is now.
