Likewise, could Moderate Islam allow for the moderate use (as on special occasssions) of wine or spirits? The problem with Islam is that it takes things to an extreme, but then, so do those who get drunk, inebriated, intoxicated--although it doesn't take much to get drunk, but what would a very special occassion be without a very little bit of something of delight? If Islam expects other religions to be tolerant of it, IT MUST BE TOLERANT OF OTHER RELIGIONS! If they wish to be religious Muslims, they should do so in their own countries!

Anything in excess is anti-social. A social event tends to not involve excessive eating, drinking, shouting, dancing, pairing off, etc etc. Events which do those to the extreme have other names for them than just a social gathering.

And why the rant on muslims? For one thing I thought their thing on drinking was only "of grape or wheat". So big deal, drink mead or vodka. If they want to carry it farther and ban all drinking at some party of theirs then thats not too unusual either. Anyone can do that of any religion (or even no religion)

Drinking in moderation is social. Being an alcholic means there's underlying problems within you.

You don't have to be drunk to be antisocial. It happens on R&S all the time. It's all about behaviour.
