Hate and intolerance causes people to rally politicians around their fears. Once you start down that slippery slope, you give the government power.

Most evil in this world can be traced back to Hate & Intolerance.

As an educated society, it is our duty to protect our freedoms, our enemies and ourselves. There is no other logic.

I think hatred and intolerance scare people because they are so difficult to change. People that are hateful are usually very closed minded and won't accept any sort of dialogue. I think they grow when they surround ignorant people...

IN all honesty I suspect it's more an issue of "personal comfort" than anything else.

A person becomes intolerant/fearful if they presented with a notion against their personal POV. The discomfort is felt as a threat leading to some to retaliate in very intolerant ways.

Hatred and intolerance have been known to cause a lot of problems.

The fact that they grow is one of the things that makes them really scary.

It doesn't scare me... I know it for what it is. =)

Actually, no it doesn't work. It does grow at first, but it ends up eating you up inside till you're nothing but a withered soul devoid of any other emotions. Who wants to be around someone like that? So I don't see that it works at all... not in the long run.

It's like the cave man days. If we are scared of something we must kill it. The same with a little wasp in your house.
Why do you think Aliens won't come down and say HI
Cause if they were to come anywhere near us we would try and kill them, fretting incase they were going to kill us.
It's mankind, we're just not that clever enough yet.
