Jehovah's Witnesses are Christians.
At times, a question such as this will elicit dozens and dozens of elaborate schemes to spare a householder an unwanted conversation with Jehovah's Witness door-to-door ministers.
All such schemes are a complete and utter waste of time!
Many of your neighbors have figured it out, and it's really quite simple:
1. Open the door
2. Smile (optional)
3. Ask "Jehovah's Witness?"
4. Receive affirmation
5. Say, "Thank you, but I'm not interested"
6. Gently close the door (slamming is rude, but your prerogative)
Please recognize that Jehovah's Witnesses are not primarily interested in converts, but in working to obey Jesus' command to preach (Matt 24:14; Matt 28:19,20).

Mormon missionaries are encouraged to study, learn, and discuss together, but are STRONGLY discouraged from "Bible bashing" (ie arguing over which interpretation is right).
Mormon missionaries hope to talk to you, teach you a few things about what they believe, give you a Book of Mormon, and invite you to read it.
Then they invite you to think about it, study it, and then pray to God and ask him if the things that you've learned are true (pretty Christian approach, eh!).
God answers prayers....try it out next time they come knocking.

Congratulations! There are people that say we as Christians try to force our beliefs on them, but I do not know of one Christian that goes door to door or even continues a face to face religious conversation when they are asked stop. Christian Evangelism is spread by living the way God wants us to live and people see Christianity through us all the time and can't get away from it, to some that is disturbing, while to others it is awe inspiring and they want what we have. While I applaud you for your efforts, you need to keep your guard up because when one is gone there will be another to take his place. Stand strong brother and GOD BLESS!!!

Its rather interesting to me, they have come to my door before and begin to speak their lies, and things about the extra disciples and Jesus as the archangel....WHAT??!! So when they are finished rambling on for 20 minutes I calmly throw my Christian beliefs and truth on them, it almost always ends in them jumping up and leaving. But, why?? I sat and listened to them as they basically walked right into my home and spoke of their cult, and they can't take 2 minutes of me drilling them with questions and proving that what they believe is wrong?

I am a Christian, one of Jehovah's Witnesses. When someone comes to my door and I don't want to talk to them I either don't answer, or when I do answer I politely tell them no thanks, and then shut the door. I might ask them to not come back.

I have a sign on the door saying Warning! Protected By An Atheist!
If that fails, I challenge them to read my copy of Stenger's "God, the failed hypothesis" and to get back to me with a book report. If they refuse, I slam the door.

I invite them in and ask them about their false prophecies and take them to Deuteronomy and ask them why I should listen to them?
