...Also places like Fontana where the track was extremely hot could there be some swapping race dates in the schedule to maybe benefit the drivers and fans?

...As it is now no changes have been made to the 2008 schedule so what ideas do you have?

OK Tina, these things have been done in the past so try not to date your self in the years as a race fan.
The Talladega race has been moved from in the heat of the summer to fall for the heat reason.
The Daytona 400 was moved to night because of the heat. Darington lost one of there races due to the heat and now with a new pavement job just complete( I if I may add ) runs there 1 cup race at night. Maybe they will dump the Fontana race and get the other race back on the schedule where it should be. A track with character is much better than a cookie cutter any day of the week and a bad cookie cutter to beat all.

As far as rain I don't know how you would do that I mean you could go for the odds but I don't think too many have won against Mother Nature.
I really don't see any flaws in placement of the races anyway or what else they could do. It's gonna rain in the spring and fall and not as much in the summer.

NASCAR has boxed themselves in because of the length of their season. They only have 3 or 4 weeks off during the whole season. Rain is kind of an unpredictable thing, so its hard to change the schedule for it. Of course there will be rain during the Pepsi 400 at Daytona, but how can you move that race? its tradition. Take Fontana off the schedulef and give me back darlington on labor day weekend. Then take away a Dover race and another cookie cutter track and add two more road courses.

Hmmm... Predicting the weather on a certain day more than a year in advance, sounds pretty easy to me...

I know rain outs suck, and there have been more than a few this season, but there's nothing that can be done about it.

As for a new schedule, I would have liked to see one of the dates from either Louden or Pocono removed and give a date back to Rockingham. I would like to then see the remaining race at Pocono dropped to 400 miles in length.

I think it would be difficult to predict Mother Nature a year ahead of time. But, it was a good move to back the Vegas race up by a week as they did a couple of years ago, now they went back to the old date and it will be quite cold again.

Well it is a good theory but rain will happen and it is a gamble on the weather.
The schedule is made a year ahead so it would not be practical to rearrange for "suspected" rain.

I'd have NASCAR talk to Mother Nature. Maybe they can
get her to give money to them for some advertising and
she'll see that it's in her best interest not to rain on race day?

get a recent farmer almanac and see where to expect what wheather during certian weeks and then arrange to that.
