You could hire a private investigator to handle the case instead. Just a thought.

Why not report to the Americas Most Wanted ? They seem to really be an effective organization. I like to see the justice and follow through on a case solved . It can take years sometimes and new information helps to prove the fact . people that have got away with murder can be caught . the dna chemical test also has proved that many innocent people have been convicted too. the forensis science and technology have made good improvements .

the american's most wanted also seems to be able to solve more international sort of cases ?

the personally paid for private investigator might also be a good bet

this is considered to be a double murder ? yes ?

I know its tough for you, but, by involving your self personally in the case (which may look good on t.v. dramas) you might end up destroying any legal chance of the guy standing in court for his alleged crime.

You actually have no legal right to question anybody and his parents could get a court order served against you for hassling them. If you continue to push it then it could be you who is doing time.

Your claim of a well known person means nothing here, well known to who? Your family?, In your State? In the USA.

As for the "Detectives never getting to it", is it possible you assume this because there is no immediate arrest?? if the person alleged to have committed the crime is outside the jurisdiction of your State Law enforcement agency, even outside the borders of the USA then they have to work through the Mexican Police Agencies, all of this can take time.

You have the option of hireling a Private Detective, or getting in contact with the local Radio and T.V. station with regards the case.

I would strongly advise you avoid any confrontation with the alleged victims family as it might have very negative consequences for you.

Try calling your local newpaper and see if you can get them to write a story about it. Come up with some angle, like the police are ignoring you when you know where a murderer is or something. Papers love that kind of stuff. If they write an article, it will get out again and the police may feel more pressure to act.

I can honestly say I know how you feel.. my brother was killed 20 years ago.. let me say,, it still feels like yesterday. They never found who did it. Number one.. keep on the police,, don't let them forget you .. number two,, call AMW and get her on that show again.. number 3,, don't play detective.. you may not know what you are getting in to.. and number 4... most important of all,, do not let this run your life.. I was miserable for 15 years after my brother got murdered,, after those years someone told me I had to let him go... after alot of soul searching I did,, I wrote him a letter good bye ... and burned it. This does not mean I forgot him.. it just means I finally really said good bye.... this will make you miserable as long as you let it.. there may never be closure in the police case,, but you need to find your own.......good luck to all of us in these circumstances.......

You get proof he is back , then they will help , the police with jurisdiction can not spend the time or money to go there and check for you ( due to budget restraints ) ..You give them more than an " I think " and they will help you ...It is hard to see things clearly ,and from thier side when you are in the position you are in ..but trust me , you get solid proof , they will help ...If they checked on every "maybe" or " I thinks" nothing would ever get done , I know it is hard to understand this , but you have to think , would you spend thousands of dollars to come here , because I think you might have a chance to get something ??? ..Be understanding , and get them the proof , you will see ...

I agree with the person who said contact AMW again. They may rerun her case if there's a possibility he's around again.

Another thought, if there is a warrant for him you could try contacting Dog the Bounty Hunter. From what I've seen he's pretty successful. Try contacting him through his website.

Go see the Governor of California and see if something can be done through his connections. Let law enforcement handle the situation....but keep them posted you expect this criminal to be brought to justice no matter how long it takes!
