It's possible that after your whole entire life to date, you might have developed a lactose intolerance and/or dairy allergy.
My neighbor had been eating whole wheat products his entire life until age 54 when he suddenly started to get sick and lost quite a bit of weight. After many tests, he discovered he did indeed develop a lactose intolerance.
Of course, go see your doctor to make sure your nausea is from food allergies and nothing more serious.

You may not be lactose intolerant, but you could be having an allergic reaction to the milk or some ingredient in it. So I would get tested to see what you are allergic to and then they can see what the problem is stemming from. Some milks are organic now and some are vitamin fortified. So be sure you check the cartons ingredients when you buy it. You can also switch to another kind of milk product that is like milk, but has different ingredients. It should be in the special aisle of your grocery store or in a health food store. Curious to know what causes your side affect. It sounds like a mineral/vitamin may be giving you that aftertaste. I have that with Zinc. I think you may still be allergic to something in the milk itself or maybe the carton it is in. You never know what goes into our food these days, or the containers. I hope you solve the mystery, go to the dr. and find out what it is. You may find it well worth it.

People can develop lactose intolerance later in life. Try switching to Lactose free milk for awhile and take Lactaid before eating anything dairy. If that doesn't help, you should call your doctor. There might be something else wrong, like an ulcer.

You can become allergic to something that you have eaten or drunk all your life. I used to eat prawns, mussels and other shellfish, but now I suffer from itchy eyes and nose and sometimes anaphalactic shock! Best try and avoid it (dairy I mean) for a while and see if it clears up.
You could also be suffering sinus backsplash (dairy is known to cause more mucus production!) which travels back down your throat, to your stomach and you feel sick. That has happened to me too with cows milk products. Now I eat/drink goats milk.
But everyone is different.

You do not give the most important fact~~your age....but saying "all my life" leads me to believe me that you are probably close to middle aged....prime time for lactose intolerance. You can either take meds for it that you can buy over the counter and they do work very good! OR you can stop eating dairy....you may be able to eat cheese but not drink milk. Middle age is so much fun!

I think you might actually be allergic, and it is quite probable seeing as though allergies can be developed at any point in one's life. Like I was never allergic to cats, but last year or so I, all of a sudden, had this allergic reaction to my neighbour's cat, and now any time I am near a cat I need anti-histamines. So maybe you should check out an allergy clinic near you and see for sure if you are allergic.

You don't become allergic to something the first time you come into contact with it! It happens spontaneously on the umpteenth time. Stop all dairy for a couple of weeks, then try a tiny bit and see if it that causing the problems. Good luck.

You might have lactose intolerance. It's not uncommon to develop allergies at different times of life. Why don't you see a doctor about it?

I feel the same way ..it's just the mucus it makes you produce. I feel very phlegm-y and want to throw up or gag...it just makes my throat feel thick and yucky. Now I rarely drink milk products, and if I do, it's skim or non-fat.
