Yes, they ignore the commandments in the Old Testament, unless they think it says something about people they hate.

Sure so "pig out". Actually there is a debate which i can settle. The rabbitical laws state not to eat it. Reason was of all the diseases. Cloven foot only. People feel they did it because of no refrigerators, but lets look closer. Catfish, lobster, are bottom feeders and so are pigs, they could give a rats behind what they eat and can, as we know jpass it on . So the old laws made sense.
There's a guy on tv, Doug Kaffman and he has a site called Knowthecause.com. He mentions the Bible and about the law and mold and fungus and relates it to todays diseases and cures. Pretty good site. Remember about all the black mold stuff. So the Bible is pretty good about that.
Now the problems come in because of the gentleman that saw thenet fulll of everything and it states that God made nothing that is bad. Many think this relates to food, but no it actually relates to the gentiles.
So yes you can eat it, they got a new deal and push the loin as the new white meat, but face it the stuff ain't good for you. Last time I ate some with a new hire I had hired in cable advertising sales and now that I think about he suggested getting it at Red, White and Blue. He was also a black Muslim from New York City in Jackson, MS. He wasn't suppose to eat that no wonder he got sick. Anyway we both ate there and got sick. He was a card. That was 1990. So it's up to you, but you know the Bible says drink in moderation.
I don't think you wil go to hell, everything points to not eating it. Take care.

Modern science will soon prove that the food laws in Leviticus Chapter 11 were written as part of a advanced disease prevention plan by a scientific mind to keep the human body as healthy and disease free as possible. This discovery will then force anybody with common sense to follow and teach their children to follow this diet all over the world. This will also include Christians.

there not supposed to but most christians say because its in the Old testament they don't need to follow it.
In the book of Leviticus, chapter 11, v. 7, it is recorded that God declares the pig to be unclean for believers. Then, in verse 8, God says: “You must not eat their meat or touch their carcasses; they are unclean for you”. This command is repeated in Deuteronomy 14:7-8. Then, in Isaiah 65:2-4, and 66:17, God issues a stern warning against those who eat pork.

Yes.
Interesting question. Jews were not allowed to eat pork because it was considered unclean. Maybe it was unclean at the time the laws were made. Maybe the pigs there carried diseases.
But more importantly is what God said to Peter in the book of Acts: you can't reject what God himself calls clean. In fact, in Acts 9 God commands Peter to eat all kinds of things considered unclean by the Jews.
Man, now I'm just ramblin'. I'll stop.

yes. jews aren't allowed to eat pork because they belive only in our old testament. but all the small bariers were broken by jesus when he lived on earth.
one example he moved with gentiles, he at times broke the laws of the jews openly and tried to explain that just obeying the rules wont take them to heaven.
so christians are allowed to eat pork.

YES! Acts 10 1:1-48. See, the law was given ONLY to Israel. And we were as in Eph 2: 12-13. Funny how they only see the pig when it was other animals who were cloven hooved and did NOT chew the cud also.

There were some dietary taboos but they came from people who didn't have adequate knowledge. People who didn't cook pork properly may have gotten sick from Trichinosis. Therefore pork was banned in some cultures.

Yes, Jesus said, it is not what goes into us, but rather rather what comes out of us (our mouth) that defiles us. I, personally, do not eat pork, in fact I eat little meat, but it is by choice and not by commandment.
You can read in Acts 10, about Peter's dream regarding clean and unclean foods.

Yes. Its Jews that hold to the Old Testament Law of the Torah, that does not permit the eating of "Unclean Animals". Jesus said it's not what goes into a man that makes him unclean - Its what comes out!!! We have been set free from the OT Law and have a new law of the HS
