think of a lighthouse. at night it's hard for ships to see where they are going, so the lighthouse, has the bright light to let the ships know where land is. you need to help bring in the lost souls to Jesus. that is what it means to be a "sunbeam" . be a bright light in this dark world for all the lost people who can't seem to find their way. I love your avatar by the way :)

Jesus want you to shine for Him by having Jesus in your heart and spreading His name.

Sunbeams are perceived by the amount of dust-motes in the air. Some dust motes are kitten fur. Conceivably, then, it is already true before you realized it.

If you have committed your life to Christ, you are to bring joy and light into the lives of the people around you (just like a sunbeam in the song).

Keith they still sing that song all the time in primary and kids still exaggerate the beam part.
It is just a song saying we should be a good example and live our lifes that reflect our belief in his teachings.
