I did... I consider it a 'miracle drug'.... been smoke-free for seven months after 46 years of smoking..... it was so easy!....if you are committed to stopping, you'll succeed.... after the three months ON the Chantix, the first three months will be a cake-walk.... then you'll get a little iffy....but it's still easy to avoid starting again... believe me, I'm in a place where I could easily start again *(baby girl getting married in DEC) but so far, just a stern 'talk with myself' makes it go away.....
I felt good, I didn't get all nasty and nervous, I didn't graze the kitchen constantly.... in fact I actually lost weight, cuz I swapped my pack of smokes for a bottle of water as my 'crutch'.... so I gave up sodas and smokes at the same time, basically....I did it, too, while spending a four week vacation out west.... so I was busy, too....
I cannot speak highly enuff about it.... just remember to take the pill with a FULL MEAL to avoid nausea.... and the side effect of vivid dreams is okay, too... didn't have nightmares, just very amazing dreams.... a little gas..... ugh.... but that's it for me...
best of luck to you if you're thinking about quitting.... if your doc says you can use the Chantix, you'll be way ahead of the game.....

I took Chantix from October-December. The side effects were weird. During week one the upset stomach got worse with each dose and with each cigarette. By the end of week 1 I thought I was going to throw up everytime I smoked. Also during week 1 I had problems falling asleep and once I did fall asleep I had the most unusual and vivid dreams ever. On day 8 I quit smoking. The upset stomach only kicked in for about 30 minutes when I took the medicine and the problems falling asleep went away. The weird dreams continued through until the end. According to research if you quit with the first 3 month supply you can ask your doctor for an additional 3 months. That can help increase your odds of being smoke free 1 year later. I only took about 2 months worth of Chantix over 3 months and did fine. I got to a point that I only remembered to take the medicine when I thought about smoking. Good luck quitting! The medicine does wonders!

Chantix is a good treatment to stop smoking. You need to adapt your body during 7 days and choose a "quit date". You have to make sure that you try and stop smoking on your "quit date".
The most common side effects of Chantix include:
Nausea
Changes in dreaming

My best friend took it for a couple of months. She said that she didn't have any of the nasty withdrawal symptoms. She also hasn't felt like smoking. She had been smoking for 20 plus years.
She experienced some very vivid dreams while taking Chantix, but other than that she didn't have any other side effects.

my mom used it and she thought it worked great. she smoked for almost 30 years and it took her less than a month to quit. it is expensive but completely worth it.
