Did he have some other virgin from David's bloodline in the wings just in case? Could she have said no or would god just gone along with his plan anyway?
(we'll just pretend the original text said virgin and that jesus and david were real for the moment)

Tziyyon Ahavahi-please don't start with this fragment that has never been properly dated and says house of david. This is hardly proof david was a real historical person.

There was a Mary and David, and they married. She tried to say she was a virgin because he "didn't get it in all the way". Ooops, she still got pregnant! Ohhh, a divine child.....NOT!!!

God already knew that Mary would say "yes." He knew, but He didn't decide for her.
(There's really no need to "pretend" the original text is real. It is real.)

Perhaps he did have a "plan b." Or, maybe he chose Mary precisely because he knew she wouldn't say no.
