Guys pay no matter what.
They pay for prostitutes and they pay for their gf, who are basically unofficial pros.
Whatever... The guys still pay.

I am a guy and I don't have a problem with paying for a date. I know that woman expect this. Even in this day and age of political correctness/women's lib/equal rights. Most women I know like for a guy to pay for the date because it shows them that you are your own man and are not a potential freeloader or would be dependent on them for everything.
Usually when I first date a woman, I usually adhere to the $40 rule on the first few dates/. That is no dates should cost more than $40. There is a good reason for this. And it isn't because I am a cheapskate. The first few dates are supposed to be about getting to know each other and asking each other interviewing questions. One should be getting the feel for each other and to determine if there is a potential for a relationship. If the date doesn't go well and you never want to see her again, you aren't out a whole lot of money.

I'm straight dutch treats all down the line.
Yes, some of my female "friends" boast about going out with a fiver, getting paraletic & coming home with £3.50 (they normally buy their own 1st drink). But when I come home I may no-longer have my £, but I have my dignity, which most of those freinds leave @ the nightclub /pub/ bar door.
I know which I'd rather end up with!

Being old fashioned doesn't mean that you pay for everything, it means that you have manors and a sensitivity that seems almost extinct in todays world. I don't expect my boyfriend to pay for everything, he just does it, sometimes I whip out money really fast to beat him to it. I think people should treat someone if they "want" to, it should never be an expectation.

Dating has nothing to do with "rights." Equal rights is about fair treatment as citizens of the US.
If a guy asks a girl out, then he should pay. If a girl asks a guy out, then she should pay. Or they should both agree to split the bill. I always bring money with me so I can pay my way...but the guy always says "no I'll get it."
If you don't want to pay on a date...don't ask anyone out.

Thats rubbish in my case, with all the guys i've dated it's been equal. I always expect to pay half, or if they insist on paying the lot that time then i'll accept on the condition that I pay for them when we next go out..

I'll usually pay the first couple times. But it gets old if she never offers to pay for anything, and I start feeling like I'm being used. You have to be careful not to attract a gold digger.

stop being a nug then, i never pay for anything. you just have to find the right type of woman. stop treating them so nicely, they are more interested if you are moody and offish. i never give them a penny and they moan like hell but they love it. women love to have something to moan to their friends about if you are treating them to nice they get bored and take advantage of you. good luck.
