Well it is a very stressful time for me since my cat started to behave strangely today...she walks very slowly as if she is in pain...her eyes are watery...she is avoiding food, water...even toys do not get her attention....she is avoiding me too and gets into dark places...she is mostly not responding the way she used to...she seems depressed and lies down and i can tell that she is not feeling well...I am taking her to vet tomorrow but i am worried sick that delying her help might worsen her condition. she is a house cat and never leaves the house.

The good news is that I just gave her some treats (her favourites) and she jumped and ate them all. At least some hope that she might not seriously ill. But we'll see what vet will say. I hope she'll be ok or I'll get sick with sadness.

She's 4 years old. And yes we do have plants around the house and she likes to play around it sometimes.

You didn't say her age....?
Was this very sudden?
Could she have gotten into something toxic, like ate a houseplant ?
Do you have other cats?
Was she alright yesterday?

First off, I am very sorry to hear that and I hope your cat will be alright. Is she old? Has she had prior medical problems? Wow, I don't know how to help you...or make it better.
My cousin had a cat that lived to be 20 years old, and she was very playful for her age and ate a lot, and one day she kind of drifted away from everybody in the house (which was hard to do because there were 7 people living there) and they found her dead two days later. I really hope this is not the case for your cat.
When you take her to the vet, be sure to mention everything that she has been doing.
Once again, I am very sorry, especially if it turns out like my cousin's cat.

It could be life and death but only your vet can say for sure. Has she had all of her vaccinations? If not it could be any number of diseases particularly if she's an outdoor cat. If there are no emergency vets in your area that U can go to, Im sorry to say there is nothing you can do except make her as comfortable as possible until Monday morning. Most vets, however can be paged so you can try to call your regular vet and see if there's an emergency number on their recording. If so, whoever's in the facility will page the vet who will in turn call you and tell you what your next course of action should be. Until then do what U can to get her to keep eating and drinking. As long as she drinks and eats she should be ok. However if she stops then she's in real trouble. Hope this helps.

If I were you, I'd get her to the vet asap. My indoor cat was bitten by a spider and actually had a similar reaction, but she was throwing up a lot. Still, if your cat's not eating or drinking, the vet can help by giving her an IV with fluids.
Good luck!

It could be anything. Since you seem very worried, take her to an emergency vet. It will cost more but at least you can get her treated right away, which will be good for both you and your kitty.

Your cat is indeed sick. But there is no telling what she has. She may have a passing flu or sth., which has given her some fever and she feels bad, but she may have sth. more serious that needs treatment. You need to take her to the vet for blood tests, to see what is wrong. Good luck.
