Actually the cross in Egyptian mythology is the equivalent to and Ankh *edit*.. Which is the cross with the circle top. I believe it means life and/or a representation of the sun god Ra.

Ankh
(egyptian dreams website)
The ankh (pronounced 'ahnk') was the Egyptian hieroglyphic character that stood for the word Ankh, which means life. Gods may carry it by the loop, or bear one in each hand crossed over their breast. Latinists interpreted the symbol as a crux ansata, "cross with a handle".

The "Ankh" looks more like a representation of a person than a "t" cross. According to touregypt.net: "It is at least interesting that the ankh word was used for mirrors from at least the Middle Kingdom onward, and that indeed, many mirrors were shaped in the form of an ankh sign." It seems more than coincidence that the symbol looks like a person.

You mean the ankh? A cross with a loop on top? Eternal life, I think. Do a search, or ask in the mythology section.

Many people fail to realize that the cross was used in pagan religions long before Jesus Christ was on earth. Jesus died on a torture stake commonly used at the time of Jesus' death, the Bible even makes reference to a tree. But the cross so many religions use now as Christ's means of death crept into belief just like many other pagan beliefs that has crept into Chritianity now known as Christendom.
