I just bought an Xbox 360 Elite and I connected it to the TV via HDMI cable. My tv is 720p, but does the HDMI cable upgrade it to 1080p? My tv is the olevia 532.

no it doesnt, if ur tv only goes up ro 720p set the 360 to 720, even if the 1080i setting works, the 720 will still b better trust me sounds lower but its better, and the hdmi will not upgrade to 1080P u would of have to bought a tv with 1080p.

The highest display you can get it only as good as the lowest component you have. If you have a 1080 TV and a 720 XBOX, you can only expect 720. This goes with just about any electronic device. Tv's, Wireless networking... everything.

no, if your tv is 720p, then thats what you get. go to display settings on ur 360 and select opitmal display. it should say 1360x768 or 720p. if you press the display button on ur tv remote it will also show the resolution and refresh rate (60Hz).
