Actually, the priest in question was not expelled; he is merely no longer a pastor. He is able to celebrate mass.
In my state, there are a number of priests who have lost their status as priests for pedophilia. I know one such personally, and his name no longer appears on any directory of present priests in my state. I know another who had incidental contact (brushed up against a woman), and was removed as pastor from a church until his innocence was proved. In most places, any form of sexual conduct from a priest is treated harshly of late.

It's called survival and power. Priests falling in love threatens the whole catholic church base. Priests will want to get married and that means change. However, fooling around with little boys has always been part of the church - even popes used to do it. But it was kept secret. And always will.
It seems that most of the Christian churches are straying from the teachings of Jesus. They are more interested in gaining power through gay bashing, aligning themselves with warmongers, and those who help the wealthy at the expense of the poor.

I left the Air Force to become a Catholic monk. When I was baptized in the Holy Spirit thru the catholic church and found out that altho they recognize this as a legitimate and separate work of God, they do not promote it, and try to keep it hidden, so I left the Catholic church.

Yep it's nothing short of disgusting. However the Catholic Church has always been a power unto it'self with little regard for the rights of women and children. Autocratic paternalistic and secretive about their '"power base". It is a Homo' paradise full of abusers and misfits.
To me Christianity is Hokum and nothing more than Manna for the masses who are looking for re-assurance that their individual personalities won't die, and Catholicism is the worst of the lot. As for Popes they see themselves as royalty and always have, did you ever read about Popes of the past?
Thieves, Murderers Rapists, you name it and they have done it. Of course they all did it in the name of the church and begged forgiveness for any transgressions! The whole Catholic setup is insupportable.

Wow,
I am a not a catholic. That being said, I find that almost silly that one could love a women and kicked out for it. As for as I am concerned, the Catholic Church should allow priest to get married.

The Pope probably had his turn at young boys. Any religion is what you allow the leaders to make it. DON'T FOLLOW BLINDLY!!! There is no god. A god is a fictional character made up by leaders to keep their people scared, and to make them follow them. Also, it keeps money in the leaders' pockets. Think about this. Why is it that priests have been molesting boys for centuries, but they aren't supposed to get married? My guess is that most priests become homosexuals...and pedophiles. And WHY do you follow a religion???

I read on this forum a post that stated Christianity was a religion where the men are the ones who wear dresses. I guess after years of denying themselves basic biological functions and teaching themselves to hate this or that b/c that's how the 'loving' god wants it, they go crazy and can't tell the difference between right and wrong, up or down anymore.

it's the adam and eve thing ... They are really suppose to act like a eunuch instead of having sex. Sex is bad, bad, bad. Anything that feels good is bad because it will lead yo into destructive behaviour. It is the same rational for the drug war.

If people are still following them after the inquisitions then I don't think this would stop them.
