God does exist just like you and I exist. He is real and he created science. Therefore whatever science thinks that it has discovered, God knew about long before science.Stories is what builds the foundation for fact, that is why we have histories. Most history, as we know it, would be lost without the stories that have been told to support them. Deciding what stories these stories mean takes an open and deciphering mind especially since the Bible is filled with stories, sciences and histories that has been translated. If you just let God be true, you would find so many things making more sense. Uneducated people? Did you know that James was a physician? This helped him to appreciate Jesus' power more than the average person. Did you know that modern physicians are using prayer as therapy? Did you know that the Bible says that the earth is round? I think that man's own greatness attest to the fact that there is a higher being. Look at flight, for example. How long has birds been on this planet? Man, in comparison, just recently discovered how to imitate flight.God is also a conservationalist. As a matter of fact, he will bring to ruin those who are ruining the earth. There were many Biblical people who either did not believe in God. Paul was an example of these although he had his eyes "opened". Sometimes people who think that they are educated and sophisticated, really lack a lot in understanding
The Bible says that it is impossible to see God and yet live. This statement must be true because he's got to be more powerful than the sun. Have you ever tried looking at the sun lately? Have you ever been struck by lightening or survived a tornadoe? God has to be more powerful than these.
Yes, the world is definitely filled with turmoil and it will get worse long before it gets better. The bible predicted a time when the nations would be at war with themselves. This is due to the antics of another"god", satan, who is working at making himself the ruler of this planet. Now he knows that he has a short time left and is taking advantage of this time by turning people, nations, families etc against eachother and against the Creator. The question is how long will this insanity last and will God allow the earth to be destroyed. Just chew on that a little and see if your spirituality begins to grow.

I believe in God but not sure about all that other stuff. Our paths have not been decided as some people believe. We each decide our path to take. From the bible the only thing I can say I really follow are the 10 commandments. I also follow some of the golden rules. I know I will probably get flamed here but you can believe in God and not believe in christ as the son of God. The bible stories were handed down from generation to generation by men. Have you ever done an experiment in school involving a whisper? You start spreading a message by whispering to the nearest person next to you. By the time the whisper gets across the room it has changed a great deal from the original message. Who is to say that the same has not happened to the stories that were eventually written in the bible? I just basicly look at the bible as a guide to a better society but see too much conflict based on all the little differences as people attempt to make God their God.

God is real, otherwise there wouldn't be you and me. A world with so much peril does not mean that God does not exist. The bible is not just a book of stories. It contains the past, the present and the future. It is all about belief and faith, the simple faith that Jesus talked about to the disciples. Not the kind of faith that has doubts about the existence of God, about the reality of eternal life and death, etc. Proof lies in the lives of believers. There is so much evidence that peoples' lives have been touched by God and how their lives have changed. And scholars study the bible written by the so-called "uneducated unsophisticated" people 2000 years ago. It is not a wonder that God chose "uneducated unsophisticated" people to do the work for Him, because of their simple faith and belief.

Is God real. The answer is yes in the sense there is a God because we say there is. Because of the belief we have put into the idea there is a greater being there is one. This is not only for God but any other divine entity in which we've placed our trust. The belief in a higher power is crucial to the existence of humanity. If you think about it. How could we answer questions during times before science? How could we explain death, life, stars, fire. And how the first man arrived to the point he is today. Because of our limited ability at the time religion was a necessity. So is God real, yes because faith is real and that will never change.

Faith is aquired as a matter of direct experience. For alcoholics/addicts it works simply. I prayed for the obsession to be lifted and it was. Not necessarily in the way and time I may have preferred.Bolt of lightening miracle, etc. Yet I am sober and there is no way I'd been able to it before. Prayer for me is just talking to God whether I believe there is someone listening or not. The bible leaves me cold, too. A personal relationship is the goal in all worthwhile relegions. And by the way, God had nothing to do with the perils in the world. They are our creations and consequences. In every instance when we look, we did something we knew God would not intend for us and the snowball keeps rolling bigger and faster.

I use to believe in god. But I have never found any evidence for a higher power or deity of any kind. Maybe what you need is peace of mind, not necessarily a something or someone to believe in.
Try checking out Buddhism. You can study and practice the teachings to give your self a different out look on life. You don't have to follow the religious practices of Buddhism. I found it very helpful for me. The link is in my sources. They have on line books and articles for beginners.

i think he is real, but I also have questions... many of then unanswered, ir if at all, they are answered with the lame, " We do not know His will... " Blah blah blah.... And till I can get those answers, I have decided to go back into Wicca, but still believe in a higher deity, Ie, God. No I am not straddling the fence, but I have had serious questions, and my experience has led me to be in Church, and my heart not be in it, or be around Christians and wonder why they are feeing like they are not really what they seem>????

Nobody has ever provided any evidence that any gods, much less a specific god, exist. People believe in specific gods because of indoctrination from an early age, tradition, hallucinations, fear of torture (for gods sadistic enough to threaten it) and other similarly illogical reasons. But no gods exist in reality; these are all stories, created for people who were scared of the world long before we understood it. Now we have no more reason for these superstitions.

Hinduism can give some mystical answers .
Who is God? Where is God? How can I come to know God?"
God has no names, but all names are the names of God. Whether you call Him this or that, He remains Who He is. But in our tradition we call God by the loving name Siva, which is only one of His 1,008 traditional names. Supreme God Siva is both within us and outside of us. Even desire, the fulfillment of desire, the joy, the pain, the sorrow, birth and death -- this is all Siva, nothing but Siva. This is hard to believe for the unenlightened individual who cannot see how a good, kind and loving God could create pain and sorrow. Actually, we find that Siva did not -- not in the sense that is commonly thought. God gave the law of karma, decreeing that each energy sent into motion returns with equal force.
In looking closely at this natural law, we can see that we create our own joy, our own pain, our own sorrow and our own release from sorrow. Yet we could not even do this except for the power and existence of our loving Lord. It takes much meditation to find God Siva in all things, through all things. In this striving -- as in perfecting any art or science -- regular daily disciplines must be faithfully adhered to.
Siva is the immanent personal Lord, and He is transcendent Reality. Siva is a God of love, boundless love. He loves each and every one. Each soul is created by Him and guided by Him through life. God Siva is everywhere. There is no place where Siva is not. He is in you. He is in this temple. He is in the trees. He is in the sky, in the clouds, in the planets. He is the galaxies swirling in space and the space between galaxies, too. He is the universe. His cosmic dance of creation, preservation and dissolution is happening this very moment in every atom of the universe. God Siva is, and is in all things. He permeates all things. He is immanent, with a beautiful form, a human-like form which can actually be seen and has been seen by many people in visions. He is also transcendent, beyond time, cause and space.
That is almost too much for the mind to comprehend, isn't it? Therefore, we have to meditate on these things. God Siva is so close to us. Where does He live? In the Third World. And in this form He can talk and think and love and receive our prayers and guide our karma. He commands vast numbers of devas who go forth to do His will all over the world, all over the galaxy, throughout the universe. These are matters told to us by the rishis; and we have discovered them in our own meditations. So always worship this great God. Never fear Him. He is the Self of your self. He is closer than your own breath. His nature is love, and if you worship Him with devotion you will know love and be loving toward others. Devotees of God Siva love everyone.
This is how God Siva can be seen everywhere and in everyone. He is there as the Soul of each soul. You can open your inner eye and see Him in others, see Him in the world as the world. Little by little, discipline yourself to meditate at the same time each day. Meditate, discover the silent center of yourself, then go deep within, to the core of your real Being. Slowly the purity comes. Slowly the awakening comes.
