My friend is 15 and wants to move in with her aunty her dad said it was fine but then he went home and told her step mum and her step mum said no so now her dad says no. is there a way she can leave but not go the the courts she is sick of being at home cause all she ever does is fight with everyone over everything. need to know asap.

If your friend has a source of income(means of supporting herself financially) then she can become legally emancipated. But that does involve legal process and time.

Also, if her father says no, then technically the police could come and take her from her aunt's house. There really isn't any way to get around the whole issue of parental consent, especially since your friend is only 15.. if she were 17, the law might work out to be better for her..

I am surprised that the stop mother said no because of the fact that it is not her child unless there is a question of child support that the step mother is receiving. Depending upon who she fights with and what the fights are about, she may be able to contact protective services and see if they think they may be able to help her or she will just have to stick it out until she is old enough to move out on her own. she may also perhaps get the mother to file for custody and the court would listen to her, and then the mother could win custody and give permission for her to live with the aunt.
