I think most people just think it's better manners to use a notebook. It looks a bit like you're not organized, not to have a regular paper list.
Or do you do it for decoration, like drawing little 'temp tattoos'? I've done the last, I've even got some tattoo markers and I've also used the little picture tattoo's. Those are nice, but they don't last long.
Some religions believe it's wrong to use any decoration but I don't think there's anything wrong with it in that way. It's your body, decorate it in any way you want, permanently or not.

When I did that my mom always reminded me that my body is a temple and asked if I would write that on the temple. It makes a lot of sense to me now. It's sort of a form of defacing yourself.

They have paper for that you know.
Even if you don't write a thing, carry a notebook or journal with you.
You will LOOK professional as hell with that in your hand, rather than a person in need of a good wash..
Right?

ya know i guess its just were you live. okay for example.

i used to live in San Fransico and i made designs from my wrist to my shoulder and i actually got complements.
Now
i live in L.A. were i guess having one flower on your arm is weird or something not normal.

i think its self expression and who needs pen and paper when your proud of the thing you've drawn or wrote.

Depending on what you are referring to as "writing on yourself." There is a Biblical reference against putting marks on your body-many interpret that as a religious command against tattoos.

If you are talking about writing on your hands/arms or clothing with ink pens, it just looks tacky (matter of opinion).

hope this helps

there is nothing wrong about writing to yourself. in my way of understanding it, its just that people have the common notion about it which makes them think of something eerie...continue doing it, it will suppress your stress or your depression either if you have.

I think the real question is why people act like youre weird when you admit to playing with yourself. so what like theyve never done it? hypocrites...
