why or why not? Biblical answers would be appreciated.

Why or why not? I ask this because many Christians do not believe in aliens for some reason. Biblical answers would be appreciated.

When Adam and Eve sinned and caused death to happen, does it make sense that this death would spread to all other creatures in the universe when they have nothing to do with Adam and Eve?

I have wondered if this verse may be speaking to this very issue:

Mark 16:15, "And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature."

What does creature mean here? Does anyone know the original text?

creature
ktisis
Strong's G2937

1) the act of founding, establishing, building etc

a) the act of creating, creation

b) creation i.e. thing created

1) of individual things, beings, a creature, a creation

a) anything created

b) after a rabbinical usage (by which a man converted from idolatry to Judaism was called)

c) the sum or aggregate of things created

c) institution, ordinance

Makes you wonder why God didn't just say all MANKIND, instead of "every creature". Are we to witness to animals (dogs, cats, etc.???) Doesn't that sound ridiculous? What IF there are other creatures--God's creation-- we are to witness to?

Just seems like an interesting thought to me.

I can really see both sides to this argument--IF God created other planets with creatures--do they also need salvation? How would they work into God's plan for humanity?

The other side being--A God of such infinite wisdom and such an awesome creator would just simply stop creating with human beings?

Both sides are quite interesting to contemplate.

We can see that angels--are a different classification of creatures. They do not come under the plan of Jesus' salvation. But, they are very curious over the grace God has given to us:

1 Peter 1:12, "Unto whom it was revealed, that not unto themselves, but unto us they did minister the things, which are now reported unto you by them that have preached the gospel unto you with the Holy Ghost sent down from heaven; which things the ANGELS desire to look into."

Is it possible God created not only humans, angels and but also other types of beings? Sure it is possible.

There's absolutely no way to know for sure, but considering that our universe has been cursed by sin, I would think that if there *were* other intelligent creatures on other planets (not animals but creatures who know are conscious the way that humans are) they would be sinners too since they live in a fallen universe. I mean if there is death even among stars (know how they explode and whatnot) then I think it is clear that the entire universe is feeling the effects of sin, not just Earth.

So, if there ARE such creatures, that would imply that Jesus would have to go there and die for their salvation, too, which seems improbable to me. I can't think of any scripture that would back this up OR refute this, and this is something I've given some thought to.

In the words of the great Larry Norman (70's Christian artist): "If there's life on other planets, then I'm sure that He must know, and He's been there once already and has died to save their souls .... "

Edit to respond: Again, I point to things such as 'dying' stars in the universe as evidence that the universe feels the effects of sin. There was NO death before there was sin. I could be wrong, but I feel that science points to the fact that there is death out there, and not just on our earth, and scripture is clear that creation GROANS to for the coming of Christ so that it may be redeemed to its original state (see Romans) and that the wages of SIN is DEATH. (Again, Romans).

I will only paste a small portion of my webpage on this, but the page will answer the UFO problem in complete details:

How could God, cause other beings who never knew Adam and the earth, to fall in sin just because Adam fell into it. You either have to denounce Rom 8:19-22 or believe God is unjust, to believe in alien life. Therefore, there is no one out in space to experience the fall of sin, except natural elements. The stars are even dying because of Adam's sin. But stars are not living beings, they are just material. Nevertheless, all creation is now in bondage to sin and death because of Adam's sin.

Another reason this can't be true is that Adam had been given authority over all creation. How could God give Adam authority over other beings from another planet? He wouldn't, therefore there are no other beings.

Another point would be; if there were other races of people on other planets, God would want them to know that Jesus came to earth to die for everyone, and that the gospel would need to be preached to them. Yet the Bible says preach to all the earth, not to all the planets. Again, there is no one out there, except angels and demons.

I can't be a serious Christian without believing that life exists elsewhere in the universe. God Himself is not from this Earth. And the angels, and whatever else is out there, much that we have n o i d e a that exists.

The Bible only mentions God creating the life on the earth. Nothing else is mentioned so I'm not going to just assume that there is other life.

No I don't. I would not be all that shocked is there were life, I just don't believe it right now. I used to be the same way about GOD until I finally met him.
I do not believe the Bible addresses this question.

Have fun!

maybe that is something we don't know
Adam and Eve have nothing to do with other planets
God might have already done this very things millions of times
God lives on another planet

I would have to say yes. God always creates in abundance. I would be shocked if life is not found on other planets.

I believe it's possible. We are not told everything in the scriptures just what we need to know.
