I think some of these kids have a real bad home life.
Most of them anyways.
Plus, most are picked on in school.
They reach their boiling point.
Their anger exceeds their conscience.

They get so mad at everyone.
They see their classmates as "turning against" them.
They wanna make an impact so...they pick up a gun.
Once they've shot a few people, it sets in.
And thats when alot of them kill themselves.
Truly a sad, sad thing.

Even more sad is most teachers in our school systems worry more about the "preps".
Jocks and cheerleaders etc...
They are usually the ones in the guidence counslers office.
When it really should be the kids with more issues and image problems.

Its very complex and often hard to understand the reasons why people are pushed so far as to go on a shooting spree.

Its like if someone is pushed to snapping point mentally then may self-harm. In their minds, its the only option of releasing the pain and torment and often anger. Some ppl chose to vent this by lashing out at strangers or the public who they think has inflicted the pain they feel.

I think that the media plays a big part in it as well... because whenever there's a highschool shooting the whole world hears about it and the shooter is "immortalised" (in a sense). They want to get back at the people who've made their life hell and they see a shooting spree as being a more glamorous option.

That is amongst many other factors that some of the others have mentioned, of course.

"take care of the people who wronged me and since my life is destroyed by them, i can only destroy myself."
It's not only about being bullied or taunted, but being ignored.
People throughtout the world don't know everyone, but they live on. By shooting others, they become known and others feel emotion for them which otherwise would have been forgotten. People just don't go up to everyone just to know them for who they are. It's just impossible and because it's impossible school shootings can happen. If people had friends to depend on, these things wouldn't happen. But to the other extreme of others being friends with each other would cancel out the true meaning of friendship. ..

Dam i started ranting on and on..and lost myself...i hope u get what i mean.

We live in a violant society where everything from the shows on TV the movies and music all promote violance. Gangsta rap is notorious on the youth today, glorifying killing. Even our government teaches kids violance= results.

There is a lot of anger in our society and an increase in mental illness. It makes me wonder how much of all the violence portrayed on TV contributing to this rapidly growing problem

Why do the kids who help get these shooters to the point they are think that bullying is the answer?

By the way, since you're in the mental health section, I have to throw this in as well--these kids that do this stuff HAVE to be sick in the head. Lots of people get bullied, but it isn't every kid that reacts that way. Something is very wrong with their cognitive processes.

They often think that killing themselves and everyone who has made their life hard is the answer. People who commit suicide don't always even want to kill themselves, its just that they get overwhelmed with stress.

They don't see another way to vent their frustrations. They don't see another way out. Sometimes people get pushed too far and if they don't have an outlet, they crack.
