China has been buying Russian fighter planes, submarines, and warships. The Chinese military has about 2000 tanks and possess nuclear weapons. Type 094 nuclear submarine was launched in 2004 equipped with JL-2 nuclear missile (range 8000 km) capable of striking the east coast of the US. Currently, China is planning to build a aircraft carrier and is developing the J-XX stealth fighter which is comparable to the F-22 and said to be superior to the F-35. If Taiwan leaders declare independence from China, the the PLA military would use military force against a democratic Taiwan. Then the US would go to war to defend Taiwan against a larger Chinese army with over 2,000 tanks. well, the US military could use its navy to block Chinese warships from entering Taiwan, but it will be too late. In addtion to warships, China has Russian designed missiles capable to striking Us warships. These missiles can reachmach 2.5 speed and hit Us aegis warships and carrier groups.

During the latter Clinton years, Clinton kept telling Taiwan that we would support them. At that same time, China had actually launched a full scale invasion force to take over Taiwan. The saving grace was an out break of dysentery aboard their ships. They had to turn around. You have no idea just how close we came.
And to whom ever gave me the thumbs down, Guess you forgot about the Navy P-3 Orion having a mid-air collision with the Chinese MiG. The MiG driver lost his life. The P-3 crew had to then land on a Chinese island/military air strip. We negotiated for the return of the crew, but they kept the P-3. Gosh, I wonder what on earth they were doing flying so near a Chinese island...
Should America invade China? Why for lead based painted toys going to Matel? No.

the newest chinese fighter jet is virtually a twin to the eurofighter and is far less capable than the F22
however it is true that china is planning on building aircraft carriers and that the PLA is in fact the largest army in the world (not to mention the fact that they have ICBMs)
even if china has political problems with taiwan, they still need their trade with both taiwan and the us in order to keep their economy booming
even if china were to go to war with taiwan and us, they hardly have the capabilities to make an amphibious assault on taiwan, and taiwan has enough anti-air assets to turn any airbourne invasion into an open duck season
btw, the chinese navy is about the same in size and capabilities as the roc (taiwanese) navy
although the chinese are rapidly modernizing their military, more than half are still equipped with outdated equipment
concerning nuclear warfare, china doesnt have even half the number of nuclear warheads as the us and i dont think anyone would like to start a nuclear war

Why do you continually post this RANT question??
But to educate you again if you are a slow learner ;
America has not got the power or the means to invade mainland China, or to Naval blockade China, (its not Cuba) what you propose is a sure fire way to get into an all out war that ultimately would end life for all on the planet.
By the way "sonny" the Chinese have more than two thousand tanks!!!
The Chinese like the Russians used to do, traditionally export their sub-standard weaponry to third world countries, they keep the good stuff for themselves, but they have the manpower (see what the Russians in WW2 achieved with so called inferior equipment when fighting the Germans in WW2).
China is truly a sleeping Dragon, even the Russians were never foolhardy enough to annoy them.

ask anybody who served in Iraq how good russian and chinese weaponry is. We shot the crap out of their equipment with minimal losses (mostly to friendly fire). Having a lot of junk to get shot up is not a strong position to be in when your opponents have already demonstrated the ability to convert it to scrap in a rapid and decisive manner. China talks tough, but if it comes down to it, they cannot take Taiwan. The US will provide sufficient land based defenses that it would be foolish to attack them. Most likely the US will never even have to comit its military forces.

I think any military action should be a last resort. Any conflict between the US and China would be a disaster for both countries. We both have way to much to loose.

What? No! The US and China like each other for trade purposes way too much.
Yep, China's modernizing, China's big, etc, plenty of soldiers, we're too busy elsewhere, yadda yadda yadda, but otherwise, I'm happy buying their good quality products at killer prices.

First of all China will never invade Taiwan. On top of that China and the USA will never be at war. Why you say. Money of course, do you actually think China would jeopardize trade with the USA? I don't thinks so.
