One of my friends scored a 97 on his asvab ( so he says) and someone else told me that , that is impossible. Who is wrong?

It is possible to score a 99 on the AFQT.

That means your score was in the highest 1%.

1. yes you can enlist 2. No you cannot pick any job, your overall asvab score is just used to determine if you can enlist or not It has nothing to do with what jobs you qualify for. 3. No one cares what your high school grades are or your very bad ACT score. 4. It takes from 4 to 12 months to complete the enlistment process and actually ship to basic training.

It is possible to get that high of a score, if you are smart, they have different categories of questions, lets say he was really good in math and got all of them right, and he wasnt so good in one of the others, the math would help make up for it and he could easily get a high score.

The max is 99, I got a 98. Its not impossible.

the highest possible score is 99. My husband got a 99, my stepson got a 96.

Yep, I got a 99...and then went Infantry. My recruiter was less than pleased. =(
