buy the things i wanted, will the card work ???? Does he need to come? We have the same last name, which is really different from any others.

You probably won't have any problem using the card. But get a note from your father saying you have his permission to use the card.

It should not be allowed - however, it is at the discretion of the company you are buying from.

If this is something that occurs fairly often your Dad should add you to his account as an authorized user so you have a card in your name on his account.

any good retailer with any common sense will be verifying signatures on cards.

It is illeagl for retailers to accept credit cards without the cardholder present.

most merchants will not allow it. they usually check ID, and both first and last names must match. with fraud these days, there's no way you can prove that "my daddy let me borrow his card"....he will need to be present to show ID and sign.

if it's a debit card, just have him go to an ATM and withdraw cash for you. it's simple.
