Depends on the theater. I've seen two medium sodas and ONE small popcorn bag go for $13 !!! A family of three will likely spend all total, about $47---and that's going SMALL on the drinks and popcorn!!!
Box office theaters are NO longer an option for me; I wait till the DVD is released.

Today they cost $10 for a large drink and popcorn, with re-fills. That price will be going up $.50 on Friday to be $10.50.
That's in the Atlanta area.
A small pop corn is going to cost $4.50, a medium $5.50.
A small drink is going to cost $4.00, and a medium $4.50.
The large drink and popcorn together come as a packaged deal, so you save a whooping $.50!!!

Usually just under $5.00 for a large soda and another $5.00 for a large popcorn.
If you find out what your local theatre company is you can go to their website and sign up for a "Frequent Watcher" card that gives you free stuff like popcorn and discounts.
The reason that the movie theatre popcorn costs so much is because the theatre itself doesn't make a dime off the ticket price... They need to make ALL their money through concession stand sales.
They pay their employees crap and, in my experience, treat them like crap as well.
If you want your local theatre open then you should drop $5.00 at the concession stands so they can make enough to keep their doors open.

Usually around 10-15 bucks here in Canada. we just went to a movie and got a large popcorn and large soda and small gummy bear and it was almost $17

You can usually get a combo with just popcorn and a large drink for about 5 or 6 dollars - at least in mississippi you can
