This is a serious question. Alot of people live with fears but one thing I have always noticed in the bible was Jesus would say fear not. The angels said fear not when they would visit. So I want to know if Christians are living fearfully of something.

Thanks for all the answers. The reason I asked is I would say I had an ephipany(sp?) while driving to buy more tea (funny how these things just come wherever and whatever you are doing). I started to talk to God (I'm so glad they made the ear things for cell phones - now I don't look like I am having a conversation with myself but that's another story) And I say "you know God, I refuse to live my life in fear any longer...the truth is some things and people I don't like and I find it hard to accept. Am I suppose to lie about that because I'm afraid someone won't like me? Since you are the truth this is the truth. And I am refusing to pretend just because of fear." I was kinda yelling too (I'm Italian - so for me thats normal volume). And I felt so released and good. I have alot of fear from my childhood and I can see how it has controlled my life. Every darn action of my life! And I know some Christians who still live like this. So that is why I asked. GBU for the posts.

We are taught from childhood that fear is a part of life. Its a hard thing to get out of your psyche. Being homeless or sick without medical insurance, losing your job, getting into a horrible car accident, spouse is not really with you etc. These are real well founded fears but Yeshua told us "fear not". Its a life experience to go from what has been taught (to fear) to truly walk with God without fear. Its easier said than done but once you get there its wonderful. Take the walk you'll love the ending.

Fear is a natural human emotion. The instances of the Bible is Jesus or angels clarifying to people that what they were afraid of they shouldn't have been afraid of.

Fear in fact is a good thing. We are called to Fear God. You fear jumping off a building or jumping out in front of traffic. Fear is a natural emotion and a safety mechanism that God built us. The problem si when we have fear over things that aren't things we should be afraid of and we let them control us.

Some do, like why we are who we are and why things were made a certain way, or some people wonder why we're allowed to have fighting here. "I've read and understand: 'God moves the elements; we get to decide on the rest. Every blessing is done by God. Whether you see life as a good thing or not, is whether you're optimistic or see your cup as half - ful or half - empty.' Life is very good, and I have no fear. Besides, there is no such thing as death. When people think you die, you're really just entering another door.

Yes, Christians fear GOd, our creator. It is said in Proverbs 1:7 " the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom ". We fear God because we know that we have many sins and we can't face him. When angels say that " fear not ". They mean that we should not be afraid cause they will not harm us. They are here to protect us

Fear isn't the issue.. trust is where the fear comes from..so as I journey through life... that is my struggle.. to trust that I am exactly where I should be, exactly where God has intended me to be, and be open to that without hesitation. Our eyes and subconscious trick us.. and when we recognize a fear it manifests itself in our perception of what is real, and becomes that- our fear.

But if you trust in your relationship with God, and listen! (carefully!!) - make sure you know who you're listening to!! You are never without grace..it is abundant all around you.. it is when you separate yourself from this that fear becomes real... but I am human and I can only do this for so long and then I get all screwed up and fearful... and then I start listening again and I realize I am safe and everything is ok...

I think we are presented with many opportunities for fear to settle into our hearts and minds which is why we are reminded so many times in the Bible to "fear not!"
I cannot remember the last time I felt fear; when a warning symptom appears I immediately tell myself that "perfect love casts out fear" and God's love for me is exactly that--perfect!

I fear God himself...but to address the part of the Angels and Christ......just think...angels are these BIG, Gorgeous creatures that are surrounded by the light of God and when they come to you at night when you are sleeping or in deep intersession of Prayer then they are going to scare the crap out of you...i know they would me...and Christ is the divine Healer who is the Son of God who has the powers of God...He would scare me a great bit also...

The wrath of God. and to displease God.
To fear means awe and respect, just as you would fear a good earthly father and give him the respect and love he deserves.
But with God it is to the nth degree.
