I think the style is cute, but personally I don't like the religious idea behind it. It's teaching young girls to cover their beautiful bodies in order to please muslim men. To me, that's just wrong. God created your body for a reason and no woman should cover it up and feel ashamed of it.

It makes me sick. If seeing women's hair means sexual arousal then those men should seek medical help, seriously. They must have some very perverted inclinations. Or the quick way to solve this is to just chop their *ehem*. Why it's always women who have to pay for men's weaknesses?

Religion is such a thing. If you are a religious one, you comply with the rules of your religion. This is so simple. If a Muslim woman accepts the requirement of covering her hair and believes a life after life she should cover her head of course. And if she loves her daughter, she should accustom her to covering her hair as well. Because according to her, this life is just a test for afterlife. This is just a choice. Covering head is a choice just like not covering head. Some women wear miniskirt, some not. some women wear swimsuit ,some bikini. You cannot condemn one for not wearing bikini, or mini or vice versa. Just choice. Live your own life. Do not interfere in others' affairs.

It isn't my belief to cover up so I guess I am inclined to see it as foreign even if I can accept it. If I had a daughter I wouldn't want her to have the doll, or to grow up to dress like the doll.
If you are interested in reading about how all the major religions sidelined women I suggest "Alphabet Versus the Goddess". It is very interesting and complex.
WOW! It just struck me! How ironic is this sentence you wrote: 'It's teaching young girls to COVER their beautiful bodies IN ORDER TO PLEASE Muslim men.' I never thought I would hear fully covered was hot!!! :)
Men and women are both beautiful and I think there is no harm if we respectfully admire each other's beauty. Ultimately it keeps the human race going.

I'm not sure why Muslim women cover their bodies to begin with, but they have the choice to buy what they want. Some people are upset at Barbie for being flawless and ingraining the idea in our little girls minds that you have to be thin to be pretty, but if you view it as a toy,(which it is) than its a personal choice, and maybe muslim girls will choose to play with her because they can identify with her. And maybe they will choose to play with the original Barbie because they want to identify with her.

I just wish feminists woke up to support ALL women's rights.

What they protest in the Western world are norms accepted by women, too, but that doesn't stop them. When it comes to the east though, they stay silent.

I have another proposal. If Muslim men feel aroused by the slightest appearance of women, why don't they ALL stay home, the weak creature they are? Why don't they wear the things people make horses wear to prevent them from seeing what's around, whatever their name is? Now, THAT would be a sight to see. :DDD

Sooo, when muslim girls cover their body they please muslim men! Who do young girls please when they don´t cover their body? Non-Muslims?
So what reason do you think God created your body for?
To show it off? Can you feel what a man thinks, when he sees an ugly female body? Do you think men like seeing a 60 year old lady in her birthday suit? Do you think men like seeing a young lady with her after-pregnancy belly bulging out of her trousers?
Do you think only about 20 % of the female population has an attractive body to show off and the rest are better off keeping it to themselves?

pf stupid. I absolutely hate women covering up their heads. lol and now barbies wear them. They are brain washing their children, shame that they call themselves Muslim! They wear the Arab clothing of thousands of years ago now how is that supposed to bring you closer to your God? Think think think! Don't obey like sheep, just think! What, men are going to be tempted because they see your hair? Ah I'm so angry...

Also they should make the dolls properly at least, the dolls don't look Malaysian at all.

I hated it.
You see these kids don't have choice to be what they want. the woman says children are influenced by their toys. So the main reason is not to let children do what they want.
There is no free will in it. these people don't have a choice they have to follow without asking questions.
this is really disturbing.

it can be easly said the other way... uncovered barbie dolls are teaching non muslim girls to not cover their heads to please non muslim men

I think the better reason this is done is to satisfy culture, why should a muslim country produce dolls of non-muslim nature? I dont see any covered barbie dolls selling in the west, its not a part of their culture, so why is the viseversa so weird?

yes there is religion and culture is behind that barbie doll and there is also religion and culture behind the uncovered barbie doll

its not of shame that they cover their heads that part you are just wrong.

'god created your body for a reason and no woman should cover it up...' so why dont we just run around naked? I mean why did we invent clothes? maybe because god created man and woman of different sexes where one has the urge for another...

is a woman an object of display? what are they displaying?(their beauty, I know)
