If brush my teeth regularly, is it just as good to use the waterpik as flossing and using the little brush the orthodontist gave me?

THE WATERPIK IS MUCH FASTER, EFFECTIVE AND NEVER RE-INFECTS THE GUM SPACES LIKE THE BRUSH (PROXABRUSH) CAN.
WHY?
THE STREAM OF CLEAN WATER BLASTS AWAY ALL THE GUNK AND NEVER REINSERTS THE FLUSHED OUT BACTERIA INTO A NEW GUM SPACE LIKE THE BRUSH CAN.
I RECOMMEND IT TO ALL MY PATIENTS.
BESIDES THE WHOLE FAMILY CAN SAFELY USE THE WATERPIK W/O WORRYING ABOUT CROSS-CONTAMINATION OF OTHER FAMILY MEMBERS.

I am a dental hygienist and work in a dental office that does a lot of ortho.....I absolutely think that a waterpik is a must have for anyone with braces, more so than an electric toothbrush or flossing. I have found that it is easier and faster to use than floss so people are more likely to use it. A lot of my patients who use them have told me they are amazed with what the waterpik gets out even after they think they have brushed thoroughly. My husband used one when he had braces and his gums stayed very healthy and he did not have one cavity after his braces came off.
