When they start acting up, you need to call them both down on it... separately. If he insists on blowing your cred, you need to talk to your daughter behind closed doors.

You need to probably use the carrot-and-stick approach with the daughter. She needs to show some respect, she needs to do her assigned chore, and she needs to keep her studies up.
I personally see nothing wrong with a slap across a smart face or a fanny-whooping to install some respect.

You need to have a one-on-one talk with the husband to let him know what you are going through. Her nasty behavior needs to be arrested NOW before she starts taking it to the next level. In this day and time, "the next level" has a whole range of possibilities including sex, truancy and drugs. You cannot be "friends" with your kids... you have to be parents and you have to stay in charge.

I also see nothing wrong with abandoning both of them to fend for themselves for a few days of meals. Go check into a hotel and order room service for a few days. Drill it into their heads that "if the mama ain't happy, then NOONE is happy!"

Sounds like your husband wants to be her best friend and under mind you!
He is disrespecting you as notonly his wife but, The Mother!
You need to find an effective way to make sure this doesn't continue.
If that happened to me, I'd take a long hard look at him so he can see you mean business. Do this without saying a word!
Go get dressed (continuing not to talk) grab your purse, key's etc. and go out for 3-4hrs. Upon returning....trust me he'll want to know where you went and why? This is your time to explain. Make sure you do not yell! IF, you are interuppted again go to the bathroom lock yourself in and take a nice hot bath (no arguing this whole time!)
If you are going to be serious do it in a way FULL OF CLASS!

you have to research child behaviors.. i know that if the child gets mixed messages with discipline, then it will only confuse the child, you need a partner in this, talk to him and say this is bothering you and why...

Punish both. They want to act like three year olds? Treat them like three year olds. (Get baby food and put it out saying that is their dinner)
