I would want them to do whatever is most comforting for them and will help to give them a little peace. It won't matter what the methods are, not to me.

i want all my friends and family to be there. i don't care how expensive the casket is, i mean, it's just a box. i don't want to be cremated though. then, i want a ceremony, people to come up and read poems, sing Amazing Grace, tell about how wonderful I was and how I'll be missed, then I want a Pastor to give a short salvation message, and tell them all I'd want them to become Christians, so I can be with them forever. Of course, I'm hoping my funeral won't be for another 70 years.

Make sure I'm good and dead, have me cremated, and toss my ashes in the ocean off or near the Santa Monica, CA. pier. Simple and fairly cheap. As for a memorial service, thats up to family and friends.

Why waste money on some elaborate funeral? Cremate the body and make a donation to a worthwhile charity.

I would like to be cremated and scattered with my husband's ashes (or vice versa if I die first, his with mine) and both of us scattered over the graves of our first two dogs along with all the ashes of all of our other pets.
Then I want my family and friends to gather together somewhere in nature, in a park, by a river, etc. have a potluck picnic and share stories about me and my life that made them laugh or happy or helped them in some way. Not because I think I'll be there to hear it, but because it will give them comfort after I've gone. When we had my mother's funeral, we didn't talk about what we'd miss or how awful it was that she was gone, but take comfort she's in heaven. We talked about how much she LOVED cucumbers in vinegar and fresh ripe tomato, lettuce, and mayonnaise sandwiches. How she reminded me of Lucille Ball. How she loved to talk about the planets and the latest space discoveries. How her favorite tennis player was Davenport. How much she loved my father. How strong she was. Her poor beginnings during the Depression. How she could hold her own in talks about current events, politics, philosophy, religion, science, and anything in between, but didn't even get to finish the 9th grade. How she loved all animals, but had her biggest tender spot for her dogs Tippy 1 and Tippy 2 (not related) and later in her life, three little cats that loved her as much as she loved them.
Wow, sorry about that. I just lost my Mom in January. But thanks for letting me say it.
Blessings,
Asha

I do not want to be buried (having maggots skull f*** me for all eternity is not my idea of fun). I want to be cremated. I would like my ashes spread but honestly they could throw me in the trash, it's not like I'll know the difference.
And for my wake I want everyone to get so drunk they can't walk a straight line.

I want a quiet funeral with only a few people, but then, I want a raucous wake with everyone getting rip-roaring drunk, telling awful jokes about me and having an unforgettably good time! I haven't decided if I want a Discordian to do my service...too bad Robert Anton Wilson is dead. He'd have been perfect!

Well, it a long story, but, I love the Sea/Ocean. Fell in love long ago. I tell people I want to die on my sailboat sailing. Doubt my family will be there. If/When I am found, the papers to the boat go to the finder, if they want it (another story), and just throw me overboard. If, no one want the boat, for obvious reasons, then set fire to it and I will go down with my ship.

I want them to bury me in a hill that overlooks the sea. I don't want them to cry during my burial but rejoice for the fact that I'm already in God's bosom. There should be white flowers and the sound of violin being played when I'm buried. Also, I want my family to give bibles and rosaries to everyone after my burial. These reflect my personality.

A grand funeral would be a waste, in my opinion; but I would leave it up to the living... I won't be there to enjoy or dislike what they decide to do.
