Unfortunately, the places I'm looking at, you have to wear khaki pants. I get bad/heavy periods. I will need to call off during that time. Its a really big problem for me. What do I do if I get a job where I have to wear hkakis?? I can't wear them with my period. I won't do that.

I'm not sure why this question is out here, except that you must truly need some advise. The simplest solution to this is two-fold in my estimation.

First, whatever industry or field you are looking, surely there are jobs that don't require khaki pants. If not, I would love to know what you do. If you work for Southwest Airlines, then maybe, otherwise, look for a job that doesn't require Khaki's.

Second, you need to figure out how to go to work despite your monthly visitor. Either work for yourself from home, where you get to determine your schedule. Then you don't have to explain anything to anyone. Either way, you have to decide what you are going to do because employers don't really care about these types of issues. They want to know that you can do the job they have hired you to do. I wish you successs.

Look for a job that you DONT need khakis!! or wear dark colored khakis!!...or get super sized pads and tampons!!......
...thats the weirdest question on yahoo this week!!

Also, if your periods are that heavy, ...then you very well may have something wrong with you, or they're not as "heavy" as you think. I know, because i had 7 surgeries due to a female medical problem, causing extremely heavy periods that lasted over a week!! ...but having your period, sure isnt a reason to call out of work.....unless again, you have a problem! in which case you need a doctor , not yahoo.

look for a job where khaki pants aren't part of the required dress code ( some places do offer alternative colors for pants on their uniforms for special situations .. have Dr's not in hand for proof though) or visit the bathroom VERY VERY FREQUENTLY! In this day and age you just have to learn to be more flexible and adapt . You might talk to your DR about options and alternative steps that you can take to help "lighten the flow".. if you haven't already that is . Good Luck

Go to your GYN Doctor. He/she can put you on the pill and you won't have heavy periods. Or they can perform a D and C, this will also stop heavy periods. Until then do not call off, bring an extra pair of pants to work. Try to at least go in, leave early. It looks better than calling off.

Sometimes you cannot do much about the rules of certain jobs. You can plan a time when you have to change pads in between hours even if it has to be very often. Or you can also get the gynecare thermachoice treatement. It helps reduce excessive bleeding and you can do many activities afterwards. I know it sounds scary because it involves a somewhat complex procedure, but consider it. You should go to gynecare.com for more info ! Hope that helps

I suggest Depends, the disposable underwear. They are thin enough not to be seen through clothes but will protect you and your pants.
Have you seen a doctor/gynecologist for this problem? Periods that are so bad you need to stop your life should be addressed with a physician. Jobs will frown on you being absent for a week out of every month.

Well, be careful...first go to the Gyn. Doc and he will prescribe something for heavy bleeding..for all you know you have Fibroids (which is common in like 50% women) and can cause heavy bleeding and cramping. My mother had them and never knew it and us girls have them and never knew it till one day one of us figured it out.

It takes a harmless little screen tests (like your pregnant) and they can see if you have a Fibroid on the screen.

But, either way get checked...because sometimes there is reasons a period can be heavy...so check yourself. Good luck and hopefully he will prescribe something that will take the heavyness away forever.

Well that is life you either buy super tampons and change out everytime its needed or request off during your bad days if you are regular. Mine comes on the 20th every month it is like it sees a calendar and boom.. so i don't work on that day b/c i know it will suck.. calling out to many time will result in termination and that would not be a good thing. or start looking for jobs that will let you wear black!!

If your periods are so heavy that protection available is insufficient, then you need to see your doctor right away. There may be a serious health problem and if you don't get it corrected you may lose so much blood that you will be too weak to work anyway.

You need to go to a GYN. That should not be that big of a problem. You may need to get on hormone therapy or something
