(you know what I mean...whatever the spiritual equivalent to your physical ears are...)
(is it telepathy?) (is it reading between the lines?)(is it hearing the other meaning behind the words?)(do you tilt your head in a certain way...as if listening?) (do you 'squint' your ears as if trying to listen through static?)
(do some words just ring a bell?...And that get's your inner ears burning?)
(do some words resonate and echo through the depths of you?) (like what?) (how come?)

Hi Sunman, While my mentor was with me, try as I may, I could not hear the voice, except that of my own foolish ego. Then she passed. It has been said that the Teacher must leave for the student to bloom, & so it seemed in my case. She was my connection. I thought I could not do this without her. But she had told me to look for her within after she left, so I did. The first time I found her within it was but a fleeting moment. The second time I found her, I knew she was me, & I have heard the voice ever since. It is really quite incredible. I don't have to get quiet, meditate, or even seek. In fact, there have been times I have been so overwhelmed with the world, the voice sought me out like a gentle reminder of my true birthright, ever ready to guide me. The help is not always just on the spiritual level. I have been known to ask, where are my car keys, what should I do here in this circumstance, or simply send a question back. I have yet to fail to get an answer. Yet other times I am touched by the Spirit & all is made new, everything is clear & I usually cry from the joy of feeling such unconditional love, not because I am anything special or have done anything special, but merely because I am. I have come to know I am a book of blank pages waiting for something to written upon them. We all have a master of sorts, it is the nature of our function as a aspect of God. Yet free will allows me to choose which master will fill the pages of my book, Spirit or Ego. Thank you for tis question & the chance to share. *wink*

You're too loud Mr. Sunman... mind quieting down to a whisper?
I mean, there may be some who don't realize that your words are just as important as the whispers they're waiting to hear, or their own loud voices that they're not listening to!
The greatest thing, for me, is how you talk about this "other meaning behind the words!" It gives words this beautiful power where people start to wonder, "What might they mean?" And that's when they begin searching for all the different possible meanings that a single word might hide!
You ask... "do some words ring a bell... do some words resonate and echo...?" My answer is, Yup... My words! Your Words! His Words! Her Words! Their Words! Our Words!
Gosh... And it's so funny how words are the root of the problem! What a paradox!

I hear you, all the time now......
for me, it is to listen with the heart, quite literally...
there are tones and energies transmitted from this place, that the mind knows not.....
our 'fields' merge, combine, express, share, in such deep and straightforward ways....
in the healing work that I do, I am aware that I tilt my head and listen...to no sound, but a presence, and when I have no need to know what it is that I hear, I am able to respond in purity, simplicity ~ my hands know where to touch, and my mind knows what to say...and transmutations happen, clearings, blessings move through me to the dear ones before me....
what is communicated is a word so much deeper than any we have access to here, in our 'day to day' ~ I suspect it has everything to do with Love, and the living of this in all it's myriad forms and expressions....
some words do indeed ring a bell, as do some people, and these moments last a lifetime......

The questions you are asking is a dead end path. The quest will lead you astray and will require valuable attentive energy needed to rediscover the traveller. Regarding John, 1:1 in the beginning was the word, and the word was with God. A better translation of word would be sound, or vibration, and for the word God, try O-U-M., the sound of the Void.

i know that moment; i know how it feels - i have listened to it; sometimes, i have spoken it to others in that 'secret language' - control is an illusion (you know that; but responsibility can never be given away) - all words lead back to the first word; but nobody can remember what it was - we only know it was spawned through feelings - what were we before that - what will we become next - what are we now - what 'rings a bell for me', 'what gets my inner ears burning', 'what words echo and resonate through the depths of me'; the answer: to hear no bell, to have no ears, to hear no echo; .......... but, that's not why we're here; that's not why i'm here; i'm here to find out......... i guess i'm just here to find out, 'what if?'

Hmmm, another good question from the Sun Man. :-)))
I think your 'squinty ears' are closest to the mark for me, although that isn't quite how I did it. The trick is that all the time one is surrounded by the 'Noise', you called it static, but I think it is much more 'active' than just static background, the 'Noise' is, in most cases , deliberately sponsored by the 'system' to keep us from 'tuning in'.
The 'system' has been carefully crafted for thousands of years to con people into giving all their personal 'power' away. The immense ludicrosity of millions of people spending most of their lives working away at some miserable little 'job', being paid a pittance that just barely keeps them ahead of the debt-collectors, and regularly sending their children off to die in some fabricated conflagration that never produces any result other than more misery. And then dying in fear of being able to meet the tax and funerary expenses !
What ? WHAT ???
Turn off the TV, turn it off and go to the window and open it up, and stick your head outside and yell at the top of your voice "I'm mad as hell, and I'm not going to take it any more !"
Then .... calm down, make a nice pot of tea, or whatever tipple you prefer, and sit quietly and see if you can't hear that small voice inside saying " There, doesn't that feel better ?"
That's a start, if you keep it up you should start to receive detailed instructions on how to build a 'Time Machine' in no less than 40 years or so ! :-)))

When I am searching out the truth of a matter, I will read the scriptures for today, because I have faith in the fact that close to a billion people are reading the same ones and trust that God is in control of that.
i will search my mind for the counsel of God in this matter, what is the wisdom of the ages on this subject, then I open my ears to hear what the Holy Spirit is saying, I will start this by praying in the Spirit and then listen to God.

There is telepathy and then there is hearing from your higher self, your real self where your true will resides. Quieting the brain allows you to hear from your higher self. Many times this is where our info comes from. Sometimes it is telepathy. Inspiration comes the same way. We have to choose which voice we listen to. The negative one that always puts you down or the voice that builds and sustains us.
Words are alive and they cross many dimensions once they are spoken. They leave our mouths and begin to take action, to manifest their meaning. Words are powerful. They can create or destroy. Words are not just words.

Not sure how you learn, but there are many ways to approach it. Being empathic has, of course helped tremendously. In everyday it is a multitude of information coming in. If you are asking about channeling, that is a different topic.
Does rocking and letting go count?
