No idea.
I participate because my community knows it is harmless and keeps neighborhoods together.
This is a great conversation starter for shier kids to talk to others. Again shy kids can dance or let loose - get to go to parties/community events.
People can test their limits on what scares them.
People learn a lot about themselves during this night. Haunted houses with your special girl or boy.
Moms can talk together. Dads spend time with their family and kids. Brothers and sisters can taunt and scare and trick each other. The bad mean neighbor gets his. The good neighbor gets his. Perfect American night, if it doesn't rain.
What is not to like about Halloween?

NO NO AND NO, Samhian is an old Celtic festival and celebrates the ending of one year and the begining of another. When christianity met the Celts they found that the Celts were very stuck in thier ways. Samhian is a three day fesival and the Catholic churched simply overlayed it with their own. 1 nov being all saints day and the 2 being all souls. point to note that this type of worship has nothing to do withblack magic or satanists or evil or damnation. It is not.

No. It's a fun holiday for kids. I've celebrated this holiday all my life. As a youth I attended a protestant church. I am now a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. We celebrate with a family activity at our church building on the Saturday before Halloween. We have a "trunk or treat", handing out candy to costumed children. We have a chili cook off for adults, with a nice meal for the families. There's no satanic worship involved. It's a matter of choice.

When I was a kid, we did our trick-or-treating and all that stuff.

But Halloween isn't what it used to be. Have you noticed how costumes and masks are getting generally more bloody, gory, and depraved each year? I think that because of how things are changing in this world, we really need to protect our children and teach them why we believe the way we do.
Last year was the first year I did not let my children trick-or treat. They do not feel like they aremissing out on anything. We will probably order a pizza and rent a movie.
Consider these verses;

3 John 1:11 ("do not imitate what is evil")

Deuteronomy 18:9-14 (do not learn to imitate detestable ways, including spiritists, sorcerers and witchcraft)

2 Corinthians 6:14-17 ("what fellowship can light have with darkness?")

Yes!...It is wrong for a Christian to celebrate halloween because it's a wicked celebration. However lots of Christians celebrate for fun, not thinking to do any harm or evil, but for not taking these holidays serious that's how we get burn. For instant we catch fish with a bait, wicked people catch kids with candy the more people celebrate the more power the wicked have to do bad .

No it is not wrong. I celebrate it as the beginning of the new year and to pay respect to the family and friends that have passed to the Summerland. Though, the generic, trick or treat dress up version is fun for the kids, so my boy will go out for the first time this year.

Halloween is not a pagan holiday Samhain is the pagan side of it. Halloween is made up so we can give out candy to lots of crazy kids and some crazy adults dressed up in coustmes. But I love and respect both sides. Pagan things are facinating to me!!!!

Most spanish speaking ppl i know would say "el dia de burja" the day of the witch.

Yes, it is wrong to celebrate witchcraft, the occult, evil, pain, torture, ghosts or Spiritism and the Devil. It's true name is Sam Hein or All Hallows Eve. In Catholicism All Saints Day is Celebrated the very next day. Halloween is Diametrically opposed to Christianity. It requires God to be subject to them. Isaiah 14:12 - 16 and the Devil wants to be God and by deception , know what God knows 1st Samuel 28:7-18. Christians have to follow God's instruction and wisdom.

it quite is purely how they experience, like you do not trust in stealing or killing....those are purely some values that they are delivered up spiritually. notwithstanding the reason they don't connect militia is because they could't bare fingers, they gained't pledge allegiance to the country because which could nicely be going to a special God, and they don't rejoice birthdays/vacation journeys by using pagan origins.
