I personally love Savannah. Now I only spent 2 days in Atlanta, where I spent a week in Savannah. It is so beautiful and fascinating. There are tons of cute bed and breakfasts and little shops. It is beautiful to walk along the river at night. We took a ghost tour of the town and it was soooo cool. Also we saw quite a few historical homes, including the home of Juliette Gordon Low, who founded the Girl Scouts. The Owens-Thomas house was gorgeous! There is just so much history in Savannah. Its too wonderful to miss! Also, make sure to see where they shot Forrest Gump. Quite a few movies were made in Savannah. Check them out and try to visit where they were shot.

Savannah has River Street. It has lots of historical Value. It has the Paula Deens restraunt, and the Pirates house. Atlanta has everything modern you could ask for. Both are great for getaways. You decide, historic, or Modern?

Savannah is better if you like old town its a lot like Charleston, South Carolina if you've ever been there, its really nice slow paced relaxing vacation. Atlanta is more smog infested if you have asthma you may not want to go if its bad you could end up in you hotel room most of the weekend but there is a lot of good shopping underground and there is a lot of culture.

Unless you want professional baseball or football, Savannah. Cleaner, nice beaches and old town, not as much traffic.
