so i know that obvioulsy not all guys are shallow and stuff cuz i know some really nice guys. but why do people say that deep down, all guys are sensitive and stuff but some are always being jerks, making smart a** comments and stuff? i dont get it!

It's a macho thing. They have to look tough to all the other men or else they won't be liked and welcomed by them. It dates back to ages ago! All species are like that, impressing other males. Think about it. They are controled by it. They are sensitive, that's why they act that way. Because being hurt by their own kind is the worst pain, and they don't want to endure that. Men are men, but you can get them to crack. Just take the time, and get them alone!

Let me tell you:
- Men do not mature as easily as women do. Some men actually never do.
- Some men have been hurt by a woman in the past, so they feel obligated by returning a favor.
- Some men just does not know they are jerks
- Some men will not stop acting that way until they find the one. Don't ask how they might find one :)
- Some men will actually will behave when alone. They just want to be a player around their buddies.
This list can just continue on. Just keep in mind there is always guys out there that are nice. Don't fall for the idiots.

Have you ever heard the saying the best defense is a good offense? That's what's going on with the boys that act like smart a**es. If they act like that you won't get to see their sensitive side.
Just remember that they are little boys that are still afraid of getting their feelings hurt.

See those guys are the ones that are insecure and need to make fun of somebody and act like jerks so that they can feel better about themselves, and if i were u i would come out with nice remarks for all their negativety in a sarcastic way that it will take a min for them to figure out. Those guys just need a girl to put them on check and point out their weakness just like they pick out ours get him girl.

Because guys are cool and relaxed and not thinking about forty-five things at once and trying to change everyone around them. Guys just live and have a good time drink a beer or two and relax.

most guys will be nice and sensitive when they aren't with their friends watch them and see if I'm not right. When they are hanging out with their boys they are the rudest you'll see. They don't want their boys to think they are weak so they act stupid.

because they are like that towards other guys to make themselves feel better. plus guys are not as sensitive as girls, and they can take smart a** comments on the chin better than some girls can.

We have to act like that so our guy friends think "Were big tough men." You get one alone as you boyfriend he'll be watching chick flicks and all the gril stuff.
