There are moral and amoral across the religious spectrum.
Non theists derive their moral code based on how their behavior effects other people and society in general.
Thiest derive their moral code from their holy book.
Some theists like to make themselves feel better by saying that they are the only moral people in the world, but they are just admitting that the ONLY reason they do the right thing is because they fear God.
Personally, I think behaving ethically, out of care and concern for your fellow human being is a better reason, then being scared of going to hell, but whatever works for people is OK by me.
In fact, since so many theist openly admit that they only behave ethically because God tells them to, makes me glad that there is religion for those who can not figure out ethical behavior any other way.

What Christians accept is a moral authority over them.
Both atheists and Christians think it immoral to be dishonest. Atheists think so because being dishonest makes them feel bad (conscience hurts). But feelings/conscience has no real moral authority over anyone. Our human capacity for self justification will merely bend our conscience until we're satisfied with our behavior. That's what the phrase, "I can live with that" means.
Someone who truly believes in God has a harder time in self justification in front of a God who sees right though our little self-serving arguments.

No. We do not. What we do have is a manual for living life abundantly without forsaking morals to do so. Unfortunately, too many (including myself) fall far short of the goal.
Some atheists live far more moral lives than those who claim to be part of some form of religion. It truly goes by an individual basis.

No you can be a good person without being a Christian. A Christian is just someone who has accepted Christ as their Savior. Their are also people who claim to be Christians that could learn a thing or to about morals.

You don't need a key to open a door. A brick can do it for you, but a key makes it easier.
